Palindrome: The Sarah Palin Fantasy
Barry Artiste Op.Ed
Love her or hate her, it seems Sarah Palin ain't going away anytime soon.
National Post's Columnist David Frum take on the Sarah Palin fantasy certainly shows there are some who much like Trekkies dreaming of an alternative universe where they can be best buds with Spock and Kirk need a reality check. To me the Palindrome angle is Sarah looks just as Hot coming and going. As for the fantasy aspect with Sarah Palin, I too have my fantasy with Sarah, mostly it involves Sarah with a riding crop in her birthday suit, snow tires and pudding.
Matthew Continetti has a piece in the Weekly Standard hailing Sarah Palin as the ideal leader of a new populist uprising. One obvious objection to his thesis: The populist Sarah is in fact one of the most unpopular figures in American life.
According to Gallup, 63% of Americans say they would never consider voting for her. By a margin of 62%-31% Americans rate Palin “unqualified” to serve as president – by far the worst score for any leading Republican.

She doesn't need to be president and won't be. This new role of hers may just energize the decisive sector of the independents and those disillusioned with a GOP that serves Wall Street and a Democrat party that serves internationalist agendas and does not protect us, as we see from Obama's tepid reaction to Ft Hood, while his teeth were on the neck of that policeman in Cambridge, Mass in a nanosecond.
The idiot pundits always forget that this is not about an absolute majority. Which party will move to meet the emerging consciousness of independents first and embrace their program?
The independent almost won in New York state and then the winner, the democrat, broke four campaign promises in the first few hours.
That is a lesson to the independents about politicians selected by elite committees.

Wrong on Owens, unless you are relying on Drudge and a misrepresentation by the Governuer Times.
Owens had recently endorsed the public option. As Media Matters for America has noted, Owens endorsed the public option in the House's bill during an October 30 debate. The Gouverneur Times initially reported that Owens "assured voters that he felt the public option had no place in the health care reform bill," but later updated its article to include Owens' October 30 endorsement. Despite this, both The Gouverneur Times and the Drudge Report continued to run the false headline that Owens broke four campaign promises in voting for the House health bill, one of which being the claim that he didn't support a public option.

Yep and when you have a two party system, you are pretty much choiceless

Come on Barry. You've got three choices. Republican, Democrat or stay home. Granted, not good choices, but it's all we've got for now.

You know- as ridiculous as this may sound, if Obama doesn't work harder on the regular grass root folk on the American domestic front, Palin will have a decent chance- let's hope she is taking this time to go back to school!

Now now Lee. Don't you know we have found out the Hohvard educated folks don't have horse sense? I will take a state college educated human being anyday over a snobby out of touch with their soul making decisions for the population. I know those people do not know a damned thing about feelings, soul, spirit, hunger, or real pain. They do the work for the check and the power. Sarah is much more than statistics and professional journals on international policies. She can study any thing she needs to make a decision with her common sense. Our Obama has elected a bunch of guru's that he has listened too unfortunately that he would have been better off without all that EDGEEKAYSHUN.
Watch for my take on Sara in the near future from a Jungian perspective.

Back to the subject at hand. Palin.
The same media that tore down Palin, is the same media that puffed Obama.
Obama fails, the media is revealed as a senseless old sow. They may not have the innards for destroying her again. May not even be able to. People are gullible, not senseless.
She isn't my choice for president, but she would get my vote over many of the "choices" out there.
at 19:42 on November 11th, 2009
No way would she get my vote...but I appreciate you're getting the topic back on track, Hugh! Don't forget... Nov. 17 is her book release date...read it in the store, don't buy it is my advice!

Oh, are you being personally abusive...again? You have a rather unusual capitalization style, though. Also a very creative application of punctuation rules. Are you sure you're a 'retired educator' or are you just messing with us?

Right now Obama is headed in that direction. He is down to 46%. Give him time. He will get there.

He will bounce back up with the economy as it recover in 2010
GOP to be viable needs thought leaders and political leaders. It has precious little of either at present. It will have, but it doesn't now. It is not a cohesive force. Tea Party groups- less than 10% of the electorate according to Republican pollsters. They are loud but not enough to bring the Republicans back. It needs to draw from the center and so far has no leader to do so. Palin et al push it right away from the base it so desperately needs. Plus as the demographics change the old white voter base declines so Republicans go further and further away from the mainstream. Everyhting is slipping away fro them unless they can find new thinkers and leaders

Promise to tell us we told you so when it does not come true? "He will bounce back up with the economy as it recover in 2010"
at 08:21 on November 12th, 2009
Well good morning to you, too.
I'll do better. I'm not much of a gloater and I'll probably forget, so I just diarized a reminder for Oct 1 2010. If you are correct you can do a big old told you so. If you're not, do you have a preferred recipe for crow?
at 08:27 on November 12th, 2009
I prefer "Humble Pie" from wild berries. No pillsbury dough. The real thing. I can crow about being a fabulous cook. Crow is too tough. Humility is soft and sweet if accepted.
Let us all hope we will be here in Oct of 2010
