THE PARALLEL INTERNET: Is Big Brother Screening (Censoring) Political Blogs?

BLOGGER'S PREFACE: I often post to The Washington Post's "The Fix" political blog.  The following would not post last night.  After three attempts, I received a full-screen message that my post was "being held for approval by the blog owner."  I believe this was a "spoofed" page -- which, not so coincidentally, was the topic of my post.  Here it is (unless this post is censored, too):

"THE PARALLEL INTERNET":  IS THE GOVERNMENT SCREENING AND CENSORING POSTS TO "THE FIX" AND OTHER POLITICAL BLOGS?

Evidence of "prior restraint" of bloggers and commenters

This frequent contributor to the Washington Post political blogs "The Fix" and "The Trail" finds that his musings are often not posted immediately -- and sometimes, not at all -- but, according to data contained in the browser task bar, are first being transmitted to a "mirror site" called "miisolutions.net."

This mystery site, which is listed as having a hub in Ashburn, VA., has become a disturbing piece of internet lore.   A "Google" search reveals that several other internet users are mystified by the appearance of this URL in their browsers.  Several have reported that their computer seems to grind to a stall when the message reads that data is being transmitted to miisolutions.net.

In my case, the unwelcome URL means that my posts that are delayed -- sometimes, up to a couple of minutes or more -- and typically, it happens when I write something critical of the status quo ante or the prevailing political dogma.

Lately, since I began to write about this, my posts stopped posting at all.

In the past, such posts have generated a white page with black and blue fonts, entitled "Comment Submission Error," with the message that "there was a problem" with your post, because "too many comments have been submitted from (sic) you in too little time," with the suggestion to "try again later."

Yet when I tried again,  I usually found the posts were indeed published.  Until last night.  Now, I'm getting another suspicious-looking page with the message that my post has been "held for the blog owner" -- a curious phrase for a mainstream web site.

I believe it is likely that the Washington Post web sites are being "spoofed" -- that is, false, counterfeit pages are being inserted in the data stream, but apparently only for certain "targeted" users.

This "spoofing," which is a well-known phenomenon among the geek set, provides a mechanism for what constitutional rights adherents call "prior restraint," a form of censorship.

Some of my internet postings apparently have been sabotaged.  I have found content altered, with words charged and typos inserted.  And "live" internet links in my postings often have been broken by the addition of superfluous html code.  This has happened to me frequently on the "Politico" web site.

There really does seem to be more than one "internet."  So don't scoff when it's referred to as "the internets," plural.  The joke could be on US.

While I cannot prove it, my theory is that certain articles and postings I have made are being pre-screened, cataloged and sometimes, censored outright, by elements within the government which seek to silence critics and those who dare to express "contrary" views.

Those of you who have read my articles at http://members.nowpublic.com also know that I have worked as a mainstream media journalist for decades -- and that for the last several years, I have become a victim of an unremitting campaign of harassment, intimidation, and physical assault that is commonly known as organized or community gang-stalking.

This activity, apparently conducted nationwide by local civilian vigilantes affiliated with government-funded community "watch" and policing groups as well as private fraternal and public safety organizations,  is alleged to involve the use so-called "directed energy weapons" to physically degrade their targets.

This high-tech weaponry emits silent and potentially harmful bursts of radiation instead of bullets or pellets.  It already is widely deployed among the military as well as the intelligence and law enforcement "communities" -- but the mainstream media has been led to believe that portable "D.E.W." is not yet operational.  My reporting and personal experience indicate otherwise.

I have gone public because I believe that untold thousands of Americans -- and possibly,  some of our elected political leaders -- are being subject to these assaults and affronts to humanity.  Many victims of this "domestic terrorism" may not have a clue what is causing their physical symptoms, or the vandalism and sabotage of their property and means of telecommunications.

My email is erratic, my computers and internet connection are unreliable, and I am finding it difficult to get through to people who have the power to order an investigation of these civil liberties abuses and alleged crimes against humanity.

Please read my articles at http://members.nowpublic.com/scrivener

If the links are broekn, please immediately contact site administrators.

Those who speak out about extra-judicial targeting and harassment typically are branded as delusional, much in the manner of the old Soviet Union's notorious "gulag" system.  This is no delusion; do a "Google" of the terms "gang stalking" and "directed energy weapon"  to see what's out there, and the numbers of people chronicling this horror.

In particular, check out this site:

http://monarchnewphoenix.blogspot.com/how-to-destroy-activist.html

It very well may be that this "extra-judicial targeting"' of American citizens is responsible in part for the mortgage market meltdown that has led to a broader financial crisis.   I address this very real possibility in an article posted to my blog site.

Please do whatever you can to help demand that Congress immediately launch an investigation into these abuses -- before more people become victims of these inhumane and unconstitutional abuses, what appear to be a product of an official terror war on free speech and political dissent in America.

P.S. -- This was posted in the headlines section of Democracy Now! on 9/22:

Army Unit to Deploy in October for Domestic Operations

Beginning in October, the Army plans to station an active unit inside the United States for the first time to serve as an on-call federal response in times of emergency.

The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent thirty-five of the last sixty months in Iraq, but now the unit is training for domestic operations.

The unit will soon be under the day-to-day control of US Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command.

The Army Times reports this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to Northern Command. The paper says the Army unit may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control. The soldiers are learning to use so-called nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals and crowds.

IS THIS THE "OCTOBER SURPRISE"?

Please note the last sentence, an apparent reference to "directed energy weapons" of the sort that I have discussed in this and other posts. What happened to the concept of posse comitatus, that supposedly prevents using the Army for domestic policing?  I guess the Patriot Act did away with that nicety.

Put this item together with the financial crisis; extra-legal targeting of Americans; telecom immunity; electronic voting and the lack of a paper trail to allow recounts; the Sarah Palin pick... are we headed toward a "silent coup," martial law, suspension of civil liberties, and a crackdown on "dissidents" -- defined as anyone who who doesn't buy into the new world order?

Note that we haven't seen the above item in the mainstream media.

Hi Scrivener. I'm sorry to hear you've been having trouble accessing your stories, however I have tried several of the links to your stories on your page both using my logged in account and not signed in and they all work for me. I'd encourage you to try again.

Please let me know which site admins you have tried to contact - let me know by private message.

I can understand your frustration here but we do not permit stories about site issues, as outlined here. Please move this post to the forum if you still feel it needs to be addressed within 30 minutes, and we will then unpublish this posting. You may want to repost the remainder of your article that does not concern site problems.

Thank you.

Thanks, Rachel.  Yes, the links work on YOUR side... but what's happening tells me that spoofed pages are being inserted in the data stream ONLY for users of NowPublic.com who have been "targeted" for such cyper-harassment and censorship.  So this DOES potentially affect all users, which is why I posted this in the general "world" category.

By the way, the "moderate" tab no longer shows on ANY of the new stories I post.  Again, I believe this is a result of page spoofing by a hacker entity that has unjustly targeted my communications. I don't know what you can do on your end, because the pages apparently are inserted only in my data stream.  I'm sure this is happening to others.

Of course, I will heed your advice and move the story to the forum... but I'd like to edit the story to make it about censorship of political blogs,  because this insertion of "spoofed" pages is affecting users on the U.S. side, and I believe I am not alone.  I will do this posthaste... and I'll do it on this node.  But please leave the story up until I have a chance to do the edit.  I will start now.

And please discuss this issue of external censorship via the insertion of "spoofed" pages that are inserted by third parties and directed  ONLY at "targeted" users.  Your pages ARE being electronically manipulated, but it's a precise, TARGETED technology that your side cannot detect.

Perhaps others who are more technologically inclined can write stories on this subject.  I've read quite a few articles about spoofing that it does affect site owners because it's limiting their ability to communicate with users -- again, by the "target manipulation" of your proprietary pages.  Only those who are "targeted" can tell, and that's why this is so insidious and extra-judicial.  Please Google "extra-judicial targeting" along with "spoofing" and "spoofed pages."  Thanks so much.

Rachel:  One more point:  I believe that while you can't detect a problem, these hackers are mirroring my pages and know when someone is trying to access my stories -- and they apparently have the capability to "enable" and "disable" my links at will.

This is 21st century cyber-surveillance and it's quite sophisticated. And it's been deployed for POLITICAL reasons that have nothing to do with terrorism or the other justifications for the erosion of civil liberties in America.  If you're interested, you can get more info on my channel.  I hope you read my articles because that will "fill in the blanks."  Thanks.

Hi. Thank you for agreeing to amend the story. I will give you some time to do this - until 12pm PST.

The moderate tab only appears when you have photos or videos attached to your story. If you use only text, this tab will not appear.

Thank you, Rachel, for your help. I couldn't get into my channel... again, the sign in box looked half the size it usually does. So I went to another computer and it let me in, but then I got the "access denied" page. After a couple more tries, I got in. This is cyber-harassment being committed against me, and by extension, since I'm a regular contributor, against the interests of the owners and operators of nowpublic.com -- because I am certain I am not alone. If you Google "miisolutions.net" you will come up with a link to a blogger who goes by the name, Kahunaburger.com. One of his posters also has been vexed by this URL when it comes up in the browser, grinding his computer to a slow crawl. I believe that these mirror sites are being used to screen and filter internet posts by would-be censors. This is very troubling. Now that this site has been a subject of media discussion, they can just move onto another. Only recently have my political blog posts been "held." This is censorship, and it's a reflection of some troubled times for the USA. Michael Moore's warning about a "coup" was not in jest. Something very very bad seems to be happening down here in the USA. These things are getting more frequent, and more brazen. I will be writing more about this -- if they let me.

'The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent thirty-five of the last sixty months in Iraq, but now the unit is training for domestic operations. '

Sounds like the 1st Brigade are now expert veterans in urban combat operations ...

Comforting, indeed ...
