Peacekeep Syria NOW
America has chosen the role of 'world police'.. The 'lone superpower'.. Going against nuclear developing nations such as Iran.. This is a wrong priority. It's arrogance and idiocy. Attempting to prevent nuclear development in sovereign nations is not respecting the sovereignty of any nation. No matter the tyrannical nature of that particular nation, we have no right to dictate nuclear policy outside our United States.
I just saw on the news 100 people are dying in Syria each day now.. What are we doing? Thinking about supplying arms to the civilians? This is a HUGE mistake.
The correct and moral response is to provide medical assistance to the civilians and any safety measures possible: body armor, peacekeeping forces, medical supplies and personnel, basic essentials during this conflict, temporary relocation assistance,.. Specifically NOT weapons and military assistance. NOT.
To use my mother's terminology, if we appeal to the Holy Spirit, She will guide us with Her wisdom.
Violence is NEVER a solution to ANY problem. So supporting violence ANYwhere is a HUGE mistake.
Gandhi is my spiritual mentor for a very good reason. Passive resistance, non-violence,.. Other than humility, there is no other way to be .. Embrace humility. Embrace non-violence .. Of course, I'm NOT saying 'give up on your agenda/values'.. But there is ALWAYS a non-violent alternative. ALWAYS.
My final appeal: if you're Christian, remember the core values of Christ were: humility, peace, love, patience, trust, respect, and forgiveness. All taken together = true love. Christ was about true love.
Giving weapons to ANYbody has NOTHING to do with true love.. Can you please open your heart and mind to this fundamental Truth?
in True Love, sam
