The Peachtree Summit Federal Building in Downtown Atlanta That Was Evacuated After a Grenade Was Allegedly Found Has Now Been Cleared

Workers poured out on to the sidewalk outside the Peachtree Summit Federal Building on West Peachtree Street in Atlanta on Tuesday morning after what some reports say was a grenade that was found inside the building. 

According to the Associated Press, workers in the were x-raying packages and found the suspicious package.

Homeland security was on the scene and a bomb squad was sent in to the building. People were asked to stay away from the area and to keep their distance. There were no reports of injuries but all precautions were taken and the immediate area around the building was cleared.

Other than the immediate area around the building, the situation has not caused any road closures.

The building has now been given the all clear.
