Pelosi Election Results 2010: John Boehner Cries: Video
Boehner 'Bawls'!
Nancy Pelosi is Out as Speaker of the House After the Election Results and John Boehner is Expected to be Named as Her Successor
Pelosi easily won reelection to her congressional seat, but will no longer be speaker of the House now that Republicans have the majority.
John Boehner, who is expected to be named as Pelosi's successor, gave a very emotional speech on Tuesday night, tearing up when he spoke about traditional American values such as economic freedom. He said he spent his whole life chasing the American dream and when he started to cry the crowd cheered and chanted 'USA'.
His eyes became teary again when he started talking about how he started out scrubbing floors in his dad's tavern; he put himself through school working 'every rotten job there was' and he poured his heart and soul into running a small business.
He could not hold back the tears as he remembered where he came from and why he started to run for office.
"He is the real deal," said Republican strategist Mary Matalin. "He will run that place not seen since the likes of [former Speaker of the House] Tip O'Neill."
Nancy Pelosi did reach out to Boehner with a 'nice voicemail' and he said he expects a smooth transition with her office.
"The speaker attempted to reach me this morning, left me a very nice voicemail and I expect that we will have a very smooth transition with her office," Boehner told a televised news conference.
He is expected to be voted speaker on November 15.

Incoming Speaker Boehner's speech was very much appreciated and pretty much summed up my feelings about the election and what it means. I did vote against the Health Care Bill and the spending, but those were part and parcel of the Obama Rule that I detest, and hold as an unconstitutional attack on the freedoms and the security of the entire citizenry. So I most defininitely voted AGAINST OBAMA! Which brings me to this statement. We as citizens must forever after this recognize that Obama was not the first or the last to attack our freedoms. This is a battle that will require us fighting ONE DAY LONGER than the last Tyrant, which means the battle never ends!!! And as for the Representatives we sent to Washington to fight this battle, They cannot fight it without our involvement and encouragement. We need to pay attention to issues, keep them abreast of our opinions, thank them when they do well, and spank them when they don't, and be ready to throw them out of office if they forget who they work for. And we need to prayerfully consider running ourselves if we are needed. We need citizen representation, not professional politicians.
