Pepsi IPL 2013 CSK vs SRH Live Score - IPL 6 Match 34 SRH vs CSK
Shikhar Dhawan, the left-hand opening batsman, was named to play his first match of Pepsi IPL 2013 as Cameron White, the Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, won the toss and elected to bat against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday (April 25) evening.
Batting has been the main area of concern for Hyderabad this season, and White stated the obvious when he said it was important to “bat well.” “I think the start has been consistent but not explosive,” he said. “We have to be consistent and the middle order has to deliver.”
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Chennai captain, was also looking to bat first had he won the toss. “Like I said in the last game too, we don’t really trust the wicket. It may slow down a bit,” he said. “But it played well in the last game and I am hoping it won’t slow down today also.”
Chennai have been taking games to the very end. “In this format, there are a lot of close games and we have been a part of quite a few of them. It is important to take the game to the 19th or 20th over,” said Dhoni. “It is important to be under pressure because it will bring the best out of you.”
Both the teams have won five out of their seven games and have ten points each. But Hyderabad, with a net run rate of -0.104 are placed third on the points table behind Chennai. In their last match, Chennai successfully chased down 186 against Rajasthan with a ball to spare at home, whereas Hyderabad beat Kings XI Punjab by five wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
While Chennai stuck with an unchanged XI, Hyderabad made three changes to the team that played the last game. Apart from Dhawan, in came Darren Sammy, the West Indies captain, and Thalaivan Sargunam, who also like Dhawan were playing their first games of the season. Missing out were Thisara Perera, Akshath Reddy and Biplab Samantray.
