Pepsi IPL 2013 Match 64: CSK vs DD Live Scorecard
Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat against Delhi Daredevils on Tuesday (May 14), in the last Pepsi Indian Premier League 2013 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
“The wicket has been good so far, so we’ll look to put runs on the board,” said Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Chennai captain. “Not sure if its dry but I don’t think it will get better. Of course, it’s our last game here and the fans have been great and they’ve supported good cricket. Hopefully we’ll entertain them again.”
Chennai, who are assured of a berth in the playoffs after Kings XI Punjab’s victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier on Tuesday, brought in Albie Morkel in place of Chris Morris. “We felt Chris Morris needed a bit of rest because he hasn’t played too much in this kind of heat. Albie Morkel comes in, we wanted both of them to be match-fit ahead of the playoffs,” explained Dhoni.
Meanwhile, Delhi made three changes to the side that lost to Bangalore four days ago with Roelof van der Merwe, Johan Botha and Ashish Nehra replacing Shahbaz Nadeem, Mahela Jayawardene and Morne Morkel.
David Warner, the Delhi captain, was disappointed at losing the toss but hoped his team would end the tournament on a positive note. “Hopefully the boys will play with a lot of commitment,” he said. “We have a lot of pride to play for and hopefully we can knock the top team off.”
Chennai emerged victorious by 86 runs the last time the two sides met on April 15 at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
