Sarah Palin Quits

Too many people have been singing the praises of Palin that it has become obnoxious.

I still, and I mean this with all sincerity, cannot believe that she was ever elected as a governor of the US State let alone McCain picking her as a running mate. But really who cares?

From watching her being waddled out by McCain to seeing her smug face on SNL – I am still agog that after the presidential campaign the legislature in Alaska didn’t ask her to stand down – she was, and still is, an embarrassment. You need people who have a modicum of intellect to run your State – and, as I have said before – Palin who claims to be a Conservative failed at that in so many ways it is ridiculous to count the times.

Sarah Palin is a socialist in name – yet she is a religious zealot that the GOP can be proud of.

Only one other woman do I feel so much scorn for – and that is Thatcher, though I must admit I never did feel that anyone could come close – Palin almost surpasses.

I would wear my heart on my sleeve and say that I do hope the world never hears about Palin ever again – I wish I could wish her well and for her to get on with her life – yet, she, like so many who are abysmal singers on American Idol need their shot at fame, albeit laughable to the rest of us, Palin will seek the limelight and wonder why people will laugh behind her back – just because she is the embarrassing aunt that we like to vilify.

Palin will not go – she probably believes the hype that has surrounded her from her first appearance on the national stage.

I do hope that the GOP put her front and centre against Obama come 2012 – though he will not need an easy ride into a second term – she will, of all the GOP front runners – give him it.

If she can herald in the death of neo-conservationism/neo-liberalism – all well and good – the US will be better off for it.

Well, you are not alone in that hope. I would be careful and hold off on celebrating though.

She may be back before you know it.

Everyone is allowed their opinions however I am not sure that everyone agrees with you.

Sarah Palin is obviously still having a great impact on Americans and may have an even greater impact over the coming years with or without politics.

Articles like this actually sustain interest in her and propel her to greater heights and media interest.

Why is it that liberals fear her so much?

Article is heavy on invective, light on substance.  Rather than just making vague claims, please provide examples of what you accuse her of.

OOOO  Get ready  to melt!!  Are you melting yet?

She represents a powerful archetype that will be reckoned with by the elites and the old

animus possessed feminists.

Try some interesting points of view here by Bernie Quigley

"I am real surprised. It is real unconventional," William Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, told FOX News. "It would make sense to finish the governorship and then run for president in 2012.

But Kristol didn't count Sarah Palin out for 2012, calling her "crazy like a fox."
"It's a huge gamble -- but some of her gambles have paid off in the past," he said.

"If I had to bet right now, I would bet that we just heard the first opening statement in the 2012 presidential race."

A wide but aging and ailing swath of political and cultural America has begun experiencing a kind of long slow death since Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was asked to be VP for John McCain. As in the Kübler-Ross model, when they look back there will have been five stages of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance.

In this chronology Katie Couric of CBS and Charles Gibson of ABC entered Denial on our behalf in their famous initial interviews in Fall, 2008. David Letterman, Repressed but Fuming Anger (and irony is anger for the timid) in June, 2009. By next Spring, when her book comes out there will be Bargaining and by Fourth of July, 2010, Depression.

Rising into the mid-term elections of 2010 when the dollar has floated downstream like an Alaska salmon and the rising BRIC nations have ganged up against us with a new reserve currency, we will be getting to Acceptance.

Cynic,

We have already agreed to disagree.  Here is he Wikepedia reference to her ups and downs in her political career. To answer neil abraham's question, the liberals are afraid of her because she is unconventional.

Some may be surprised if she re-emerges neither as a Democrat or a Republican.  There is a tea party movement in the U.S. that opposes big government, debt and the burden of tax.  They support none of the conventional parties.

This is only my theory, but it is certainly a possibility that she wants to start a grass roots movement, something that may be needed to shake up politics as usual.

Don't count her out.

Sarah Palin is an alien and part of a conspiracy to take over the presidency of the U.S. they were thwarted this time. That's why Palin chose Alaska for her location because its easier to land a UFO there, than say, Washington. Haven't you noticed a high number of UFO sightings over Alaska. Anyway, since she became governor she has been unable to make a trip back home. She was forced to resign because she is urgently needed back on her own planet. But she has the ability to morph, so my guess is that she'll return as a different politician and will try again to take over the office of the president!

Well JTB one thing I agree with you is ..............SHE IS AN ALIEN....old fashioned principles

such as not aborting a child because it might not be perfect....yep..you are right ..in our present

culture of   "anything goes"   YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD!!!

Morphing is going on.  We will see the old politics as usual will not be tolerated anymore.
