Rahm Emanuel to Step Down October 1; Pete Rouse to Step Up
Rahm Emanuel is officially stepping down as White House Chief of Staff. He will be replaced by Pete Rouse.
Pete Rouse will be a permanent replacement as Rahm Emanuel heads back to Chicago to begin his mayoral campaign.
Who is Pete Rouse?
Pete Rouse is the current Deputy Chief of Staff, and is the former advisor to Tom Daschle before moving on to advise then-Senator Barack Obama.
The two officials, who declined to be named in advance of the official announcement, confirmed that Mr. Obama plans to name Pete Rouse, a senior adviser, to replace Mr. Emanuel. Mr. Rouse has been at the president’s side since Mr. Obama arrived in Washington nearly six years ago as a senator, serving as his chief of staff.

I read this so quickly that for a minute I thought is said Pete Rose was replacing Rahm. Can you imagine Pete Rose at the White House. They would have gambling in the Lincoln Bedroom.
