Makati City, Philippines - A fire has been raging at a Pure Gold supermarket in Pasay City, Metro Manila, since 2:30am today.  The Bureau of Fire Protection has raised Task Fore Echo, which requires at least 10 fire trucks to the scene, according to Inquirer.net

The fire has brought thick smoke to the southern part of Makati (not shown on video), brought about by monsoon winds blowing from the west.

Ironically, it has been raining since Saturday--caused by tropical storm "Helen" (Int'l name: Kalmaegi).  But not a single ounce of rain has fallen today despite the cloudy skies, giving no relief to the responding firefighters.

Damage cost has yet to be determined.

Thanks for the flag guys...

The LRT Libertad, EDSA, and Baclaran stations have already been opened to commuters tonight at 6:16pm.  The Libertad station of the overhead railway is only a few meters away from the supermarket.

The LRT management has said that they have lost about Php1.6million in revenues for having been closed to the public.
