Phillip Davis: Pelham Police Officer Killed, Bart Johnson Caught
Phillip Davis has been identified as the Pelham police officer that was killed in a routein traffic stop this morning in Pelham Alabama.
Just after the Lakewood shooting in Seattle on November 29th, now 33-year-old Police Officer Phillip Davis has been shot and killed by who the police are saying is a man called Bart Johnson.
Pelham Police say that Phillip Davis pulled Bart Johnson over on I-65 in Pelham at about 11:50 last night, where he was then shot, and a passerby discovered his body by the side of the road and called for help.
It is thought that Bart Johnson called his brother, Bill Johnson, a police officer in Trussville, for help, and Bill Johnson was taking his brother Bart back to Pelham to turn himself in when they were picked up and taken in to custody. Officer Johnson is still in custody but has not been charged and will most likely take administrative leave after an incident like this.
Bart Johnson has been charged with capital murder and is being held with no bond.
According to state records, Johnson has faced numerous traffic violations including speeding tickets, and an expired tag.
Phillip Davis had been with the Pelham police force for almost five years; he had a wife and two small children.

Why would Officer Johnson be taking his brother to Pelham to turn himself in rather than taking him to the nearest police station? Smells fishy to me.

It's so sad. I heard about this this morning while getting ready for school. Because of the shooting, 65 was shut down causing terrible traffic in Helena and Pelham. It was so bad they had to delay the start of school at Pelham high school. So everyone at my school was made aware of this terrible tragedy. It amazed me how many people didn't even seem to care.

I pray God comforts Phillip's family at home and at work with his love. I also pray that bart Johnson will be quickly executed after a fair trial then sent to the deepest level of torment in Hell.

A friend shared this, and I felt obligated to do the same....This attachment was written by Officer Phillip Davis just days before he was brutally gunned down. There is a message in it for all of us. You have to enlarge it to be able to read it but I am sure you find it as eerie as I have. Amazing, sad and insightful... www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/note.php?note_id=354786465176&id=649891750&ref=nf

You would need to copy both lines & paste into your browser. It’s a memo from officer Philip Davis to staff on 11/30/09, just 5 days before he was killed. The subject line is December Safety Training.

You will need to copy and paste both lines of that link into your browser, as this forum didn't make it a live link. It's a memo written by Officer Davis 5 days before he was killed, titled "December Safety Training."

I think that what happened was awful. But I also know someone who knows the Johnson family personally and this is all a shock. Everyone should definiley be praying for the Davis family but everyone needs to take a step back and realize that the johnson family is going through a very hard time as well and they could also use some prayer. Bart Johnson was married and had kids and those kids now have to live without their father. So i think they deserve a little prayer as well.
