North Phoenix Home Invasion Fire, Suspect Shot Dead
A violent home invasion in Phoenix turned into a fire. According to Phoenix police, two suspects broke into a home near 16th Avenue and Thunderbird around 9 a.m. on Thursday April 22. Police say one suspect was shot in the head, apparently dead in the driveway. The second suspect is in the home despite the fire.
When police arrived the scene, the suspects had apparently set the house on fire, and was walking out with another person, possibly a hostage. Police fired a shot, hitting one suspect in the head. The suspect appears to be dead.
The second suspect returned to the house barricaded despite the fire. The situation of the hostage is unclear.
Firefighters are trying to put out the fire, which has already burned through the entire house.
Authorities are evacuating the neighborhood.
