Citing " .... larger than expected voter turnout ....", associated with this year's election process, a flyer being distributed, with logos that mimic the appearance of an official state of Virginia seal, are being distributed instructing Republicans and Independents, supporting Republican candidates, to vote on the actual election day, Tuesday, November 4, while telling Democrats and Independents, supporting Democratic candidates, to vote on the wrong day, the day after the election, Wednesday, November 5.

The bogus flyer ends with contact information alleged to be for the Virginia State Board of Elections.

From an article found at Hamptonroads.com:

The somewhat official-looking flier - it features the state board logo and the state seal - is dated Oct. 24 and indicates that "an emergency session of the General Assembly has adopted the follwing (sic) emergency regulations to ease the load on local electorial (sic) precincts and ensure a fair electorial process."

The four-paragraph flier concludes with: "We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but felt this was the only way to ensure fairness to the complete electorial process."

No emergency action has been taken by the General Assembly. It is not in session and lacks the authority to change the date of a federal election.

State Board of Election officials today said they are aware of the flier but disavowed any connection to it.

Vote Early, before GOP find legal or illegal ways to somehow stop non-Repubs from voting .... like they tried in Ohio. It was overturned by Supremecourt. Shame on current government, calling US as biggest democracy and setting such vote rigging examples, trying to stop their own citizens from voting. Seems GOP would prefer communism if they can .... Enough!! Vote Obama for Change!

I find it funny that you actually think this was set up by the GOP.  That's lunacy.  And your comment about the GOP prefering communism just shows how much of a fanatic you are.  People like you give us Democrats a bad name, and more ammunition to the GOP to point that out.

Good article.  There are certainly some crazy people in this country that will try anything for their own cause.

This flyer provides a valuable service.  Anyone stupid enough to fall for the JOKE, probably doesn't have the intelligence to decide who should hold public office.

And anyone who is tricked into thinking they are talking to the President of France probably shouldn't be Vice President.
