Pierce Middle School & Fisher Elementary Locked Down In Redford

Pierce Middle School and Fisher Elementary School in Redford Township, Michigan, were in lockdown on Monday morning over a shooting that took place near school ground. It is being reported that one woman has been killed. No children were allowed on school property until the lockdown was lifted. The husband of the killed woman is now in custody. He is the alleged suspect. It is not clear if the cause of the shooting was domestic dispute.
The shooting did not actually take place on school grounds, but in close vicinity. No casualties are being reported among school children.
Police said the shooting happened on Arnold Street in Redford Township between Elmira and Plymouth roads around 9 a.m. on Monday.
Both Pierce Middle school, located at 25605 Orangelawn Street and Fisher Elementary School,located at 10000 Crosley Road were on lockdown.
Authorities are investigating.
