Pirates hijack another vessel, Sept-19
Pirates in war with France already, reach out for new vessels to conquer. At the moment they hold 150 hostages, to release by money paymants. Situation similar to Farc Colombia.
NAIROBI: Pirates seized another ship in the Indian Ocean off the Somali coast, a maritime official said yesterday.
Andrew Mwangura of the Kenyan chapter of the Seafarers Assistance Programme said the Hong Kong-flagged Great Creation was hijacked on Wednesday.
The Great Creation was travelling to India from Tunisia with 24 Chinese and a Sri Lankan on board when it was attacked.
Mwangura said the ship was being taken to Eyl, a pirate lair in Somalia's northern breakaway state of Puntland.

Yesterday, hijackers also took a Maltese-flagged Greek ship Centauri with a crew of 25 Filipinos some 320km south of Mogadishu, in the Indian Ocean. It was carrying 17,000 tonnes of bulk salt.
The pirates have shifted operations to the Indian Ocean in southern Somalia from the Gulf of Aden due to the presence of navy ships, according to Mwangura.
According to the International Maritime Bureau, 55 ships had been attacked off the coast of Somalia since January and 11 were still being held for ransom when news of the latest attack was reported.
Somalia's long and largely unpatrolled coastline is infested with pirates, making the Gulf of Aden and neighbouring areas in the Indian Ocean among the most dangerous waters in the world

The phrase "read more pirate stories" jumped out at me: the huge difference between "pirate stories" (fiction) and "pirate stories" (real life). Good job on this.

Jordan thanks for Flag "Pirates somalia", We all remember the great movies "Pirates of the Caribbean". By the way the Pirates are also back in Brazil. The Yacht club Salvador deBahia Brazil is luxury, the Yachts not, very small sailing boats only. The bigger ones are captured by the pirates, need weapons on board to cruise this area.

SOLARLIFE, I like this story. It's good stuff.
the sociopolitical situation in somalia and extreme poverty is making the condition tough for the international watch dog to take any action.the free availablity of arms in this zone due to long civil war making the situation worst.

Amitjha, thanks for flag "pirates back", your opinion "extreme poverty is making the condition " hits the nail. The comunism for the poor is replaced by militant islamist pirates to get rich soon. They conquer with high speed small vessels the victim. The new luxury vessels with backend swim deck are the ideal landing platform for the pirates. Well have to be Harisson Ford to fight them.

To Solarlife and 'experts';
What you guys know abt piracy anyway, for sake of good understanding here, I had passed unharmed as well my ship, chem tanker, own by one of the biggest in World's chem shipping owning business abt 26th-29th Sept in gulf of Aden, off shore Jemen and Somalia on our way to Suez from Malyasia. Here we are facing a great and present danger of obstructing and big time affecting business and commercial trading routes. Been there, seen boats attempting to attack us, and you are talking abt 'Pirates of the Caribbean' ?? Yes, we haven't seen any Coalition forces ther, few helies only. Hell of a 'no sleeping' nights wandering if I'm gonna spend my vacation at home or in Somalia or perhaps got killed....
You have no clue....
