Opinion

Barry Artiste. Now Public Contributor

Quite disturbing when the Khadr Matriarch was involved in the Egyptian Embassy Bombing, killing 16 personnel, wounding severely over 50 innocents around the embassy.  Khadr was caught by Pakistani police and sent to prison, only to have a sitting Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chretien intervene and have a known terrorist brought home to Canada.

The senior Khadr is welcomed back home and suffers no recourse by the Canadian Government for his terrorist ways, in fact is rewarded by the same Canadian Government he despised, by immediately applying and getting generous disability benefits to support his family, and then uses that money to go right back out and commit terrorist acts from their home base in Canada, bringing his young children with him to fight alongside him, only to die in a terrorist firefight with allied forces.

Makes many wonder today if Jean Chretien and his liberal party were still in power today, would Chretien and his party champion the release of a Khadr family member a second time.

One also wonders if Chretien had listened to his own Intelligence service on the Khadr family, followed by a swift deportation, if Khadr today would be in Gitmo? And if so, it would not be a Canadian issue, as this prisoner would no longer be a Canadian concern, if the whole family had been deported in the first place.

Certainly once bitten, twice shy, may be on the minds of those who are reluctant to even intervene in the Khadr family circus, which includes a now 21 year old Omar Khadr, whose Mother is the Circus Ringmaster, and we as Canadians, an unimpressed audience to this three ring circus.

Plague of compassion

By Robert Marshall

Khadr's family made Canada a 'laughing stock'

As proud Canadians we open our doors to people from all over the world.

Honest, hard-working people. And sometimes, to those who are not. Therein lies the problem.

The Khadr family for example. The patriarch, Ahmed Khadr, immigrated to Canada in 1977. He was an active terrorist and friend of Osama bin Laden.

In the '90s Khadr was sent to a foreign prison for the blowing up an Egyptian embassy, but with the help of Jean Chretien he was brought back to Canada.

He reportedly applied for and received a Canadian disability pension and later returned to the Middle East along with his family and was killed in a gun battle in 2003.

Ahmed's wife, Maha, is a terrorist sympathizer and together they spawned five children.

The youngest was wounded in the same battle that killed his father.

Mom yarded him back to Canada so he could avail himself to the best of Canadian-style medical treatment.

Two other sons and a daughter all have apparently strong links to terrorist bodies.

The daughter shoots her mouth off on open-line shows and newscasts at every opportunity. Her terrorist sympathies appear obvious.

Omar, the second youngest, was captured as a teen terrorist. He's been hogging headlines all over as a newly released video from 2003 shows him being interviewed by CSIS and whining about losing his eyes and feet.

Neither loss was fact. Some Canadians actually get bent out of shape listening to the blubbering of five years ago.

They call CSIS agents -- who offer a Subway-type sandwich, potato chips and coca-cola -- thugs. Such misguided compassion dulls our lustre. Of course the argument goes that Omar is a Canadian, born in Toronto.

And that's the rub. Canada allowed this despicable family into the country. Allowed them to take advantage of all this country has to offer. Was idle while they involved themselves in terrorist causes.

Welcomed them home when they got into terrorist-related jams abroad. Showered them with medical care and then, like stooges, watched while they made Canada a laughing stock in terrorist circles around the world.

Thanks for visiting Caoimhin

Here is another story I posted today about another accused terrorist currently on trial, what smacks of WTF, is that he was one of our Canadian Government Officers with External Affairs.

I hear you, certainly not fair, but then what is fair when those care not for those who put themselves on the front lines.

Thanks Amy, truly appreciated your comments, in ending, If I was the US Dead Medic's Family, I would be looking to the Canadian Liberal Party and it's ex Prime Minister for compensation for the loss of a family member when it is said Khadr lobbed that grenade at a US Army Medic. Why, well when Intelligence community told then sitting Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chretien about Khadrs Dad and their entire Terrorist family, the Prime Minister had the chance to act, deport, but instead welcomed the Khadr's back home to Canada. This after the mother seemed to always lose their Canadian Passports more than once, only to have them reissued by our then Liberal Government. HHHMMMM funny isn't it, how you can lose everyones Canadian passports so often.  Course, selling them can get one Big Bucks from Terrorist, but I have no proof they actually sold them.

No wonder the US has such suspicions about some of Canada's muslim citizens who 'pass' thru our country. More victims of this family and their privileged treatment by Canada. This is machiavellian.

Al Quaida laughing their a$$ off at this. Tired of PC yet?

Certainly makes many wonder, thank god we have a change of government with sense to see so called Aid Groups for what they are, Terrorist Bases.

Whether you are of the opinion the Omar Khadr should be drawn and quartered because as a 15 year old he was involved in "activities" is one thing.  To be just is to follow through with Justice.  To sit for 7 years without trial and to admit to torture only says we are part of the quagmire ourselves.

Thanks Jim for stopping by and commenting, I think the kid once freed will certainly need tons of counselling and as far as I am concerned the wrong person was pur in prison , it should have been his mother, who robbed him of his childhood and sent him to fight as a 15 year old in the first place.
