Plane with Danish crown prince couple evacuated after bomb threat

COPENHAGEN: Police evacuated a plane carrying Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik and his wife, Mary, because of a bomb threat Saturday at Copenhagen's international airport, officials said.

Police arrested a man suspected of making the threat, police spokesman Ankjaer Madsen said.

The SAS plane was preparing for takeoff on a flight to Chicago when all passengers, including Frederik and Australian-born Mary, were evacuated around 3:30 p.m. (1430GMT), Madsen said, without giving further details.

Danish tabloid Ekstrabladet said the suspect had made a joke about having a bomb in his bag, but police took it seriously and evacuated the plane while searching for explosives. Police could not confirm the newspaper's report.
