Playboy: Conservative Women Top 10 List to 'Hate F*ck' a Hit List

Playboy and conservative women don't seem like a natural pairing so a morbid curiosity made me investigate further when I heard the two terms used together. I am sorry that I did.

I am, for the most part, a believer in Liberal politics, but I am also a woman, and the absolute offensiveness of the Playboy / conservative women connection defies political beliefs. What I found when I looked into the conservative women in Playboy story was a blatant example of hate speech against women disguised as social satire.

The controversy seems silly on the surface: Playboy decides to publish some sort of  list about 10 conservative women. Obviously I expected it to be the "top 10 hot conservatives" or even the "top 10 conservative women you want to see naked," but I was wrong and the reality was a brand of misogyny straight out of the dark ages.

The actual topic of the Playboy article on conservative women was the top 10 conservative women the author, Guy Cimbalo, wants to "hate f*ck."

There is nothing about that term that can in any way be twisted as sexy or provocative, it is as it clearly states, an expression of hate.  To me the term "hate f*ck" is synonymous with rape and for Playboy to publish such a piece is offensive whether one is a conservative or not.

The names on the Playboy list of conservative women Guy Cimbalo wants to "hate f*ck" is, quite bluntly, a fantasy sex assault hit list:

  1. Michelle Malkin
  2. Megyn Kelly
  3. Mary Katharine Ham
  4. Amanda Carpenter
  5. Elisabeth Hasselbeck
  6. Dana Perino
  7. Laura Ingraham
  8. Pamela Geller
  9. Michele Bachmann
  10. Peggy Noonan

That there would be a non-partisan backlash by people who see the list as an aggressive acting out against women whose politics Guy Cimbalo does not agree with should come as no surprise to Playboy, or frankly, anybody who can read. It is hate speech in its simplest form, and Cimbalo's ramblings are filled with angry and violent undertones.

The idea that a "hate f*ck" is in any way sexy or appealing is disgusting.  Guy Cimbalo should apologize for that choice of words and so should Playboy.  Fantasizing about a "hate f*ck" with these 10 conservative women is not a way of celebrating their sex appeal, which is what Playboy claims it does for all women, it is an outright call to violence.

This top 10 list of conservative women to "hate f*ck" in Playboy is as offensive as a top 10 list of male politicians to "Lorena Bobbitize" and it should never have seen the light of day.  You don't need to be a conservative, or even a woman, to see how this list was ill thought out and a very clear example of how misogyny is alive and well today, especially in Playboy.

Please note: Playboy has since pulled Guy Cimbalo's "hate f*ck" hit list.

Playboy likes to claim that it prints pictures of naked women as a means to empower them.  Uh-huh. It seems that Playboy and Hugh Hefner only like to empower women to the extent that they’ll take off their clothes, but when they open their mouths and have an opinion … well, then it’s time to roll out the demonization.  They have a new feature on the website that features — and I’m not making this up — conservative women they’d like to “hate-f**k” (link NSFW):

Obama promised us the dream of post-partisanship—a cuckoo land where party affiliation and factional animosity were forgotten. Turn on cable news or open any newspaper, however, and you’ll quickly discover that the dream has yet to materialize. But there is a way to reach across the aisle without letting principles fall by the wayside. We speak, naturally, of the hate [f**k]. We may despise everything these women represent, but goddammit they’re hot. Let the healing begin.

The hatred is certainly apparent on all ten of the entries on this list.  The boss hits #1 on this list, Amanda Carpenter’s on it too, but perhaps the entry on Mary Katharine Ham demonstrates their misogynism best:

The Hate F**k Rating: You get this one pregnant, she stays pregnant. Karma’s a bitch, isn’t it?

Let’s be clear about terms here.  A “hate f**k” sounds like something perhaps just short of rape, but degrading enough to entertain the perverted twerps at Playboy.

Surprisingly, there aren't even great pictures for most of these women. You'd think that would be a must for a Playboy article, but in this case, no -- and again, the writing is terrible.

Here are some snippets:

On Michelle Malkin: "This highly f*ckable Filipina"

On Mary Katharine Ham: "You get this one pregnant, she stays pregnant. Karma's a b*tch, isn't it?"

On Amanda Carpenter: "She is also a columnist at TownHall, a website for illiterates who disprove evolution by their very existence." (Actually, she writes for the Washington Times)

Of course, the point of articles like this one, in truth, is to try to drive conservative women out of politics. It's the same thing they tried to do with Sarah Palin. They're supposed to go, "Screw this, I quit," after getting enough abuse -- and sometimes it works. I know of talented conservative female bloggers who've just given up on politics because they couldn't take it. It won't happen with any of these women, but it's what sleazebags like Guy Cimbalo are really trying to do.

Everything you have written here is totally and completely correct, Tina, that is.

I was going to do the story, but I prefer that you have done it.

And the "HF" is synonymous with rape.

Peggy Noonan, the ex-speech writer for Reagan, is the heart and soul of graciousness and voted for Obama, to boot, revealing adaptability and a non-partisan quality.

Why anyone would think that these women weren't preferable to the bimbos on the "Girls Next Door"?

I am not sure that Hefner hasn't lost his mind, and his daughter, the CEO of some long standing now, what was she thinking?

REAL men should boycott Playboy as well!

the women of this country should boycott this magazine...The degredation of women is apparently their intent so the women should stop posing out of respect for their fellow women! Garbage in..Garbage out! ENOUGH!

From what I've seen on the vid and from what's been written, this is clearly a hate and violence inducing article.  It gives permission to those who would attack people they disagree with.  Sometimes people refuse to see that these articles are blatant hate crimes because they target the majority of the population -- women.

Oh! God forbid that women boycott a magazine that doesn't allot for women AT ALL in their demographics! I'm sure that Playboy will be really upset to find out women don't want to read their magazine. Good job.

Hate speech and speech that may incite violence is not protected in the US.  Just ask Tom Metzger about Dave Mazzella...

This arrticle is the same sort of speech with a different target... conservative women.

The term "hate f#$%" is broadly defined in the male lexicon (i.e. terms men use when women are not around) to describe a sexual act that is not related to rape. The main differences are that the act is always consensual and that it merely relates to having sex in a more intensely phisical manner. Not all women are into this kind of fornication; however, most men have watched at least one porn video (it sells better) with the act, as fake as it may be.

Let us not overeact. It was simply a sloppy mistake and a break of the manly covenant of not using such terms in front of women.

Concerned that you are an idiot

Concerned Citizen - You say you think (much like Bill Maher) - that means you don't think much at all.

Try applying your logic to other groups, other than women - gays, blacks, indians, pakistanis, muslims, male entertainers (Bill Maher for example), your kids, your mother or sisters. Still think its a funny joke?

It isn't political correctness we're talking about here, it is anger at a seemingly "mainstream" publication that decided to lower itself and its readers into the depths of perversion that was completely uncalled for.

Playboy was interesting and funny 30 years ago, now it is a ridiculous joke, and apparently uses trash writing to appeal to its readers. A long time ago, it did have interesting stories, written by good writers, but considering that I haven't opened a copy of it for at least 25 years, they weren't really that interesting after all. Now it showed it is a trash mag.

So much anger...

I feel it is soooo sad that Hef is still living in his pajamas. And his daughter has to run his empire. And he did this show about a .....what? an old man who is not surrounded by his grandchildren but rather three pampered bleeched and silicone stuffed barbie puppets that between the three of them they have not two IQ points to rub together. Are those 'grrrrls' his harem? Sugarbabies? Whores? What?

Sound cruel? Those women put themselves out there for money to be cute and fuckable looking. I don't think what I write is unfair or cruel.

Free speech or censor speech? To have free speech it means taking the good with the bad. It also means combating negative speech with positive rhetoric. But the day, one group censors speech from reaching the masses, is the moment we lose the freedom to speak in all formats. I am a woman. I am appalled. I am grateful to be able to speak out against Playboy. I am also grateful that Playboy has the right to publish the good, bad and ugly. If you don't like it, speak with your wallets.

It is nice to see everyone here in agrreement on this disturbing (understatement) article.  However, I would like to point out that Playboy has been at versions of this political chicanery for many years. As young man I believed that Playboy offered more than adult entertainment but also a mature approach to news and newsmakers.  I was wrong.   I stopped reading years ago when it became apparent that Playboy was voisting its ridiculous liberal agenda in virtually every article and interview.  It is shamefrul, readers were and still are tittilated by the prominent pictures while their insideous campaign of manipulating social atittudes is rampaging...they finally got very, very sloppy.  This is a dangerous magazine.  A dangerous company.

CERTAINLY SOUNDS LIKE "HATE SPEECH" AND ACTIONABLE LEGAL ACTION TO ME!!!

Let's not be coy... you don't need to be male to be familiar with this term and it is not just vigorous sex.  In its kindest definition the term means sex with somebody you otherwise hate.  Yes, in theory this would be aggressive, an acting out of that hate in carnal form, but this does not mandate or imply consent must be a part of it.  Synonyms are not identical words but words with similar meanings or intent of expression.  Since hate is a known driving force behind why rape even happens in the first place the two terms are indeed synonymous.  Also, since it is highly unlikely that any of these women would consent to sex with the author there would be only one way to make his hate f*ck fantasy a reality... with force.

The term hate f*ck just means sex with somebody you hate - consent is not a mandatory part of the definition.

See Urban Dictionary Definition

The act of f*cking a person that you despise. Such an act is typically characterized by name calling, roughness, and immediate departure after the act.

To f*ck a person for revenge.

Only one of the three definitions added at Urban Dictionary state consent is necessary.

No worries, I don't delete just because somebody disagrees with me :)

0
Concerned Citizen

The “fantasy” was meant as a very strong male JOKE (it is Playboy) and thus should not be taken literally, so it does not matter if these women would or would not choose to have rough sex (I believe that to be quite obvious).

You’re right. Consent is not a mandatory part of the definition, but you can’t prove that the author was advocating rape (a double negative makes positive). Much like trying to prove the existence of God, one must first prove what is, not what is not. Or as Ayn Rand would put it “you are never called upon to prove a negative.”

If there were 3 Urban Dictionary definitions that said it required consent, how many mentioned that it didn’t?

I am a liberal, but I also think (much like Bill Maher) that political correctness in the establishment sometimes goes too far. Hope this does not piss off anybody, for I am not trying to defend the act in any way what so ever, just the right for a male soft porn magazine to tell a politically incorrect JOKE in this touchy world of ours.

Has this idiot seen Peggy Noonan on MSNBC lately?  Doubt it!  She clearly doesnt belong on a list of conservative women.  Actually, she's also about 35 years late for a list of women anyone might like to f#ck!

Fair enough. Playboy's publishers have the right, in their desperate, frantic attampt to gain some relevance, to publish what they choose to publish. And civilized people have a right to be repelled by their content.

But allow me to be the 458th person to point out the glaring inconsistency in attitudes here. The Clinton administration blamed the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing on Rush Limbaugh, not an unhinged lunatic, because of his rhetoric. The Obama administration - and by extension most of the news media - blames the murder of Dr. Tiller on the entire pro-life community instead of one unhinged lunatic because we point out the intrinsic evil of abortion and its practitioners. But when a recent Muslim convert, his head filled with trash from his Yemeni instructors, murdered an American serviceman in the name of Allah, well, he must have been acting alone. And of course, when Mr. Letterman made his comment about the child of Governor Palin, it was all in fun.

[Strictly as an aside, the Palin children are all 1/16 Inuit. If criticizing President Obama, who is 1/16 tribal African black, makes me a racist, does that make Mr. Letterman's "joke" hate speech?]

What Playboy's sweaty, panting hack produced doesn't advocate something "tantamount to," or "almost," or "nearly" rape. He advocated violent rape in retaliation for policital views, a tactic used to great effectiveness in Bosnia. Personally, I don't think he deserves to draw breath - which makes me a hater, I know. What do his views make him?

He was given his free speech and it was not opressed when Playboy removed it due to the public outcry. The only way his first amendment rights would have been violated, was if the government had made him remove it. He had his rights he used and in my view abused them. He should have had to take the article down and Playboy would be right to fire this pervert.

I'm going to take this conversation in a different direction.  This language is derogatory.  I just love how the Freedom of Speech excuse does not fly especially when it is the virtue of mostly white women being tarnished.  I am a black Conservative woman, and I just wonder where was this same outrage from these feminists on the right and the left when the Rutgers basketball team where called "Nappy headed hoes," by Don Imus.  Now, the nappy party was racially offensive, but the term hoes, should have invoked every feminist group in this country, and yet we (black women) were told to lighten up.  It was a joke, it was his job.  Well, isn't Playboy's job to degrade women, they just happened to degrade conservative, mostly white women.  See, here's the beauty of hate.  When you allow one form of hate to go unchecked, you leave the field open for that hate to fester and to spread to other areas.  The spirit of hate will not stop with one group, but it will grab others.  Let me tell you, as a black woman who has worked in corporate America, I have experienced the sexism and the oversexed behavior of white men from both the right and the left, but nothing was done.  I guess I'm not a real lady.
