Playboy: Conservative Women Top 10 List to 'Hate F*ck' a Hit List

Playboy and conservative women don't seem like a natural pairing so a morbid curiosity made me investigate further when I heard the two terms used together. I am sorry that I did.

I am, for the most part, a believer in Liberal politics, but I am also a woman, and the absolute offensiveness of the Playboy / conservative women connection defies political beliefs. What I found when I looked into the conservative women in Playboy story was a blatant example of hate speech against women disguised as social satire.

The controversy seems silly on the surface: Playboy decides to publish some sort of  list about 10 conservative women. Obviously I expected it to be the "top 10 hot conservatives" or even the "top 10 conservative women you want to see naked," but I was wrong and the reality was a brand of misogyny straight out of the dark ages.

The actual topic of the Playboy article on conservative women was the top 10 conservative women the author, Guy Cimbalo, wants to "hate f*ck."

There is nothing about that term that can in any way be twisted as sexy or provocative, it is as it clearly states, an expression of hate.  To me the term "hate f*ck" is synonymous with rape and for Playboy to publish such a piece is offensive whether one is a conservative or not.

The names on the Playboy list of conservative women Guy Cimbalo wants to "hate f*ck" is, quite bluntly, a fantasy sex assault hit list:

  1. Michelle Malkin
  2. Megyn Kelly
  3. Mary Katharine Ham
  4. Amanda Carpenter
  5. Elisabeth Hasselbeck
  6. Dana Perino
  7. Laura Ingraham
  8. Pamela Geller
  9. Michele Bachmann
  10. Peggy Noonan

That there would be a non-partisan backlash by people who see the list as an aggressive acting out against women whose politics Guy Cimbalo does not agree with should come as no surprise to Playboy, or frankly, anybody who can read. It is hate speech in its simplest form, and Cimbalo's ramblings are filled with angry and violent undertones.

The idea that a "hate f*ck" is in any way sexy or appealing is disgusting.  Guy Cimbalo should apologize for that choice of words and so should Playboy.  Fantasizing about a "hate f*ck" with these 10 conservative women is not a way of celebrating their sex appeal, which is what Playboy claims it does for all women, it is an outright call to violence.

This top 10 list of conservative women to "hate f*ck" in Playboy is as offensive as a top 10 list of male politicians to "Lorena Bobbitize" and it should never have seen the light of day.  You don't need to be a conservative, or even a woman, to see how this list was ill thought out and a very clear example of how misogyny is alive and well today, especially in Playboy.

Please note: Playboy has since pulled Guy Cimbalo's "hate f*ck" hit list.

Playboy likes to claim that it prints pictures of naked women as a means to empower them.  Uh-huh. It seems that Playboy and Hugh Hefner only like to empower women to the extent that they’ll take off their clothes, but when they open their mouths and have an opinion … well, then it’s time to roll out the demonization.  They have a new feature on the website that features — and I’m not making this up — conservative women they’d like to “hate-f**k” (link NSFW):

Obama promised us the dream of post-partisanship—a cuckoo land where party affiliation and factional animosity were forgotten. Turn on cable news or open any newspaper, however, and you’ll quickly discover that the dream has yet to materialize. But there is a way to reach across the aisle without letting principles fall by the wayside. We speak, naturally, of the hate [f**k]. We may despise everything these women represent, but goddammit they’re hot. Let the healing begin.

The hatred is certainly apparent on all ten of the entries on this list.  The boss hits #1 on this list, Amanda Carpenter’s on it too, but perhaps the entry on Mary Katharine Ham demonstrates their misogynism best:

The Hate F**k Rating: You get this one pregnant, she stays pregnant. Karma’s a bitch, isn’t it?

Let’s be clear about terms here.  A “hate f**k” sounds like something perhaps just short of rape, but degrading enough to entertain the perverted twerps at Playboy.

Surprisingly, there aren't even great pictures for most of these women. You'd think that would be a must for a Playboy article, but in this case, no -- and again, the writing is terrible.

Here are some snippets:

On Michelle Malkin: "This highly f*ckable Filipina"

On Mary Katharine Ham: "You get this one pregnant, she stays pregnant. Karma's a b*tch, isn't it?"

On Amanda Carpenter: "She is also a columnist at TownHall, a website for illiterates who disprove evolution by their very existence." (Actually, she writes for the Washington Times)

Of course, the point of articles like this one, in truth, is to try to drive conservative women out of politics. It's the same thing they tried to do with Sarah Palin. They're supposed to go, "Screw this, I quit," after getting enough abuse -- and sometimes it works. I know of talented conservative female bloggers who've just given up on politics because they couldn't take it. It won't happen with any of these women, but it's what sleazebags like Guy Cimbalo are really trying to do.

This one at first shocked me.  But then I read the comment top 10 politicians I'd like to "Lorena Bobbitize".  Rather than be offended, it made me laugh.  I really wanted to see such a list.  Then I went back to the original post.  Grow up girls, this is the wild west and just like the boys, get used to it.  Yes, it is uncalled for, yes it is tasteless, it is misogynistic (to say the least) ... etc.  The bottom line is this, such tacky "journalism" is part of the landscape and apologies<  Forget it.  Don't get riled, that is the nature of bad taste political commentary.
