Police 'anti terror raids' in Cornwall, Britain

Government and official interference ensures that Cornwall, the fifth and apparently repressed and oft hidden Celtic nation at the toe of Great Britain  is subject to strict media and press control but occasionally a story does slip out to the centralist, mainly Northcliffe and BBC controlled media, albeit measures are taken to hush the leak up quickly or even to disassociate the details of that story from related events to prevent any perception of a chain of related events.

The fact of the matter is that by Devon and Cornwall's Chief Constable Stephen Otter's own admission, a very active police investigation continues into terrorist activity in the Duchy by an apparently specially selected Launceston based task force.

Despite a massive investigation into last year's huge tourist hotel fire in Newquay and the subsequent arrests, police have had to admit that they have hit a dead end on the inquiry.

The large Penhallow Hotel was gutted by fire on Saturday 18th August, 2007 and resulted in deaths and serious injuries.

Several arrests followed but to date and despite a massive police operation, no charges have ensued. Several anonymous messages widely circulated and investigated by the police claimed the fire to have been the work of a Cornish separatist organisation, seeking to achieve independence from England but all those arrested have walked free and the authorities have been completely frustrated by a wall of silence much as occurred during the Cornish Nationalist bombing of Saint Austell courthouse during December, 1980.

A police source who, for obvious reasons, remains anonymous, has made it known that there are very serious concerns about the Cornish situation stretching to the heart of central Government in London as well as within the Duchy of Cornwall itself in the form of Prince Charles who is briefed regarding events in his 'manor'.

In another incident, a police raid in the small north coast fishing village of Saint Agnes during Thursday 28th August, 2008, has resulted in arrests and the seizure of a number of firearms and hand grenades. Police inquiries continue.

All this is set against a background of increasing unrest in Cornwall. Last year, no less than six people were arrested following rumours of a plot to attack high profile restauranteers Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver. Stein's Padstow restaurant was actually attacked and considerable damage caused and this was followed by arsons at several expensive housing developments in Truro and Penryn. Of the six arrested and despite the use of brutal police tactics condemned by human rights activists, five have walked free and one male remains wanted having failed to answer to bail having had his DNA found in blood left at Rick Stein's exclusive eatery. Even this young man's name is openly flaunted in some chat rooms and it is known that because he had previous convictions for drugs related offences, his DNA profile was easily matched. (name but not identity know to this author)

Information that this latter person has been taken overseas possibly to the Republic of Ireland remains unverified along with information that the group has the support of at least one high profile millionaire businessman who wields considerable power and influence in Cornwall as well as several local politicians.

Some raids by heavily armed officers have resulted in wholesale seizures of books authored by John Angarrack, Cornish academic and activist although they are widely available in book shops and on the internet. Mr. Angarrack's original book concerning the right of Cornwall to assert itself as a free nation, 'Breaking the Chains' is now out of print and fetches vast sums on e Bay, whilst his two later books, 'Our Future is History' and 'Scat to Larrups' enjoy cult status. ( see: http://johnangarrack.co.uk/ )

A cloak of secrecy has been drawn over the recent events in Cornwall by the police and authorities who are keen to stop 'copy cat' actions by members of an increasingly disenfranchised community who openly talk and plan measures on internet chat rooms and forums against signs of Englishness in Cornwall including actions against authorities who are seen to represent the Westminster government or related bodies including 'English Heritage', 'Natural England' and the 'English Tourist Board' and its Tudor Rose signs which had to be removed from road signs due to the amount of defacement some years ago but which remain on approved hotels and guest houses thus apparently inviting direct action against what many perceive as 'English imperialism, colonialism and intransigence'.

The police themselves are divided over the issue according to one leaked source, which claims that such activists receive complicit support from some officers, fearful that the Exeter, Devon administered Constabulary is increasingly loathed and viewed as an oppressive tool of a 'foreign regime.' With the revelations surrounding internal death threats against London's Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner, Tarique Ghaffur giving a glimpse of the true internal workings of the police service, it is not difficult to dismiss such complicity in Cornwall. Perhaps ironically, Chief Constable Otter formerly of the Metropolitan Police but now head of the  Devon police tasked to control Cornwall was himself subject of allegations of racism by another high ranking Iranian born Muslim police officer, Commander Ali Dizaei, before moving to take up the Chief Constableship of the force. Otter came off second best against Mr. Dizaei and was moved out of London, his racist views thought suitable by the Home Office for keeping the Cornish people in check, they having far less political 'clout' than the ethnic minorities of the Metropolis.

Fear of possible militant action was blatantly obvious for all to see during a recent visit to Cornwall by the Duchy's de jure Monarch, Charles, Duke of Cornwall, who due to his massive income from his demesne and his exercise of incredible power and privilege in Cornwall is intensely disliked, and who was more closely guarded by record numbers of uniformed police and secret service operatives than at any time in recent history. The exact expenditure on security and policing for this latest visit is still and likely to remain a closely guarded secret.

Feelings against Prince Charles are running high, particularly following the release of a website revealing his abuse of power and stranglehold in the Duchy, which some commentators feel he will be forced to take legal action over, such is the strength of the arguement contained within it.

CelticTruth, I like this story. It's good stuff.  I had no idea that there was a separatist movement in Cornwall.
