Police:Dad set fire that killed baby, burned ex-girlfriend's body

A 25-year-old mother was smothered before her infant daughter and her Lawrence apartment were set on fire, a court document said.

Joshwa Carlisle, 22, faces preliminary charges of one count of arson and two counts of murder in the Sept. 19 fire and deaths of Tracie Shannon, 25, and Juliana Shannon, 9 months, according to the Lawrence Police Department.
