Women injured in 'exploding' car incident

Nicholas Fabian, an army bomb disposal expert, has been taken into custody for questioning by Kent police. His pregnant wife Victoria was seriously injured in a suspected car bomb attack. He is being held by police on suspicion of attempted murder.

The suspected car bomb exploded in a car park in Vigo, Kent.

Fabian was reported as having saved his his wife from the blast by pulling her out of the burning wreckage of the car with help from a teenage boy. He was due to be flown out on active service to Afghanistan.

The husband of a pregnant woman seriously injured when her car exploded in a suspected bomb attack in Kent was being questioned today on suspicion of her attempted murder, it was reported.

Police said she was the sole occupant of the car when it exploded. According to unconfirmed reports, Mr Fabian is an Army bomb disposal expert who was due to be posted to Afghanistan.
