NP Rank:
Police investigate fatal shooting at Edmonton firing range
A man was shot to death at a firing range inside West Edmonton Mall on Sunday, the Canadian Press reports, and police are trying to figure out how. Three people have been killed at the firing range in just over a year. (That fact seems to offer support for Toronto's recent gun club ban.)
Police say the man crossed under a protective barrier at the Wild West Shooting Centre and into the target side of the range, but they do not believe it was a criminal incident.
Cody Priddle, who was inside the range and witnessed the shooting, said he can't explain why the man chose to do something so dangerous.
"I don't know why he got shot. I don't know why he went up there . . . I just saw him drop to the ground," Priddle told an Alberta radio station.
Acting Police Inspector Darcy Strang said it doesn't appear the firing range did anything wrong, although investigators are still examining the safety angle.
The age and name of the victim have not yet been released.

Get your facts straight. Only two have died. The first incident only left the victim wounded when he attempted to commit suicide. Considering over half a million people have gone there since the place opened, and there's only been three incidents, I'd say its a pretty safe place to be. Stating that this situation supports any further useless gun bans like in Toronto, is an absurdity.
