Police: Pregnant Woman Put Drugs In Baby's Bottle

MANSFIELD, Ohio — A pregnant woman was held at the Richland County Jail on Wednesday after police said sheadmitted to giving her 11-month-old daughter an overdose of prescription drugs.
Cynthia Redman was charged with aggravated murder, 10TV's Kurt Ludlow reported.

Her daughter, Madison, was taken to Akron Children's Hospital on Thursday, where she died. Thegirl's death was reported to Mansfield police.

Redman, 23, pleaded not guilty in court on Friday.

Police said their case against Redman is solid after she told them that she intentionally putprescription drugs in the baby's bottle, Ludlow reported.

"She admitted that she had never been close to the baby," said Mansfield police Capt. MicheleWebb. "In her statement, she actually says she thought the baby broke up her marriage and sheapparently wanted to harm the baby."
