A body buried in a suitcase has been uncovered by detectives searching for a missing 62-year-old man.

The buried suitcase was uncovered on Saturday by police near a footpath linking Throop Road with Cheshire Drive in Bournemouth, police said.

They believe the body is that of Richard Henry Emery, 62, who disappeared from his flat in the Townsend area at the end of April.

Mr
Emery was reported missing from his sheltered flat at Castle Dean Lodge
on Throop Road in Townsend on April 29. Fellow residents had last seen
him ten days earlier.

Officers were concerned
for his safety due to health concerns related to an alcohol dependency.
In recent days, they were tipped off that Mr Emery may have come to
some harm, a Dorset Police spokesman said.

On
Friday, officers arrested a 46-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man,
both from the Bournemouth area, in connection to the investigation.
