Eta basca uccide un poliziotto dell'antiterrorismo

A witness told of a horrifying scene in a Basque town near Bilbao Spain.  The witness reporting that a policeman, Eduardo Pulles Garcia, was killed as he started his car, by a bomb blast.  Fire immediately engulfed the vehicle as Mr. Garcia pleaded for his life before dying in the flames.

A regional police spokesman named the victim as Eduardo Pulles Garcia, a 49-year-old inspector, whose car exploded when he started it in a car park at about 9am [0700 GMT] on Friday.

A witness quoted by local media said the trapped officer pleaded for help as the flames engulfed him before he was overcome.

The crime was blamed on Eta, an organization known for its violent acts to try to force the formation of a separate Basque state.
