Congressman Anh 'Joseph' Cao - the first Vietnamese-American US Congressman is running for re-election in New Orleans.  Though Republican he is getting support from all corners.

This from the Democrats for Cao Facebook page;

To National & State Democrats: Ear to the Ground|1

We are all in for Congressman Cao here in New Orleans and Jefferson Parish. Yet at the same time we do believe it's important to keep the Senate and House with Democratic leadership. With that we want to offer this to Louisiana and National Democrats.

We would say that this is a two for one offer, but it's really three for the 'good guys'. Congressman Cao is one of the best supporters that President Obama has. He is an honest voice from the other side of the Congressional aisle that stands with the President more often than not. More - when he does go the opposite way it is genuine and not partisan. We believe that the President appreciates true dissent and a differing opinion.

That said here are the other two of three;

MELANCON - SENATE - We appreciate, as Louisianians, Tim Kaine's kind words on The Daily Show this week. If we recall correctly when Jon Stewart asked why Vitter is currently doing so well he responded that we are forgiving people. Not that forgiving.  We need resources directed to this campaign to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. We need a statewide get out the vote effort. This is a seat that we can win - let's get to it. At Democrats for Cao we are doing our part in this effort. Are you?

RAVI SANGISETTY - LA 3rd - If you want to spend your money well, put your stock in Ravi Sangisetty. Some of us had the pleasure to watch him in a presentation to the Alliance for Good Government in New Orleans this week. Of the three candidates in the 3rd district he was the star. He is up against a Tea Party candidate and a Tea Party Wanna be. Here's the thing. In the primary the Tea Party guy almost won outright. But now in the runoff, the Tea Party Light candidate got the Alliance Endorsement which is very important and helpful to that campaign.  This turn of events is probably better for Sangisetty than had he won the endorsement. Ravi is well qualified to add to our coalition's efforts to deal with the Corps, proper hurricane protection in South Louisiana and Coastal Restoration. But - he needs your help to get out his message. Remember that we may be called a red state, but we are in fact quite purple.

We hope that you are listening. We will be working hard to keep the finest freshman Congressman in a generation up in Washington doing hard work for the people of New Orleans & Jefferson Parish. When Congressman Cao wins don't come crying to us if you haven't put all you can into the above two races. That's where it's at for Democrats and the effort to keep the Party of Yes in the leadership.

National and State Republicans - we aren't forgetting you. Way back when Congressman Cao was announced as a select member of the NRCC  "Patriot Program". We are asking - have you stepped up to live up to that commitment?  We wonder - how big is the tent?  Are you willing to fight tooth and nail for a moderate Republican?  Are you willing to go all in to give our guy; our US Representative the best chance to win?  If so - show us the proper resources and support to help move us forward, build the coalition and win in November.

Yours,

Democrats for Cao
