At midnight (PST) almost 3/4 of though Obama carried the night.

OXFORD, Miss. — John McCain and Barack Obama stood behind identical wooden lecterns Friday night on the stage of a performing arts center at the University of Mississippi for the first of three scheduled debates with less than six weeks remaining until Election Day. The two vice presidential candidates will meet next week for their only debate.

Jim Lehrer - Neither candidate fell on his face.  Neither candidate moved anyone.  Lehrer got them to almost follow format.

mtippett, I like this story. It's good stuff.

dunkelberg his comment is correct and neither should be President either. Those two are clowns at best.

Obama's numbers are up.

There are not really up though. If you look at the hole board of numbers he is about where he has always been. And numbers are dangerous especially when the margin of error would is equal to the number gained or lost making it a zero at best and trying to remain objective and careful in its interpretation.

I'd call it a draw, with neither candidate bringing anything new to woo undecided voters.
