Good for The Pope. Now if he'll just come a bit more to his senses and do away with the abomination of the novus ordo and restore tradition throughout the world. Homosexuality is 2nd to the destruction of the church since Vatican II!

It is ridiculous to think that the Pope is promoting hatred against gays and lesbians. There's no clear mentioning of gays and lesbians at all. Beginning from this perspective, it would be beneficial to read again the Encyclical Humanae Vitae: the intention of Pope Paul VI was to defend love against sexuality as a consumer entity, the future as opposed to the exclusive pretext of the present, and the nature of man against its manipulation."

The vatican is responsible for millions of HIV victims because they are against condom-use. Now they will be responsible for gay-bashing. This is the true face of orginized religion : hate and seperation of mankind. There are over 6 biljon people on earth and this planet is way overcrowded. And now he's suggesting homosexuality isa treat to mankind?

I hope he knows what he has done making comments like this......

I find it surprising that the Pope sends out a message to judge, persecute and cast out any individual let alone being the season of good will towards all mankind. Not very Christian is it? One has to wonder if he is a competent ambassador for the church or simply just an idiot?

Homophobia at it's best, if i may say so. 

If family values and breeding children are the fundamental to your religion, why Jesues did not have any children on earth or the leader of the church the pope himself, why he doesn't get married and have a few children? So humanity will survive.

Can he give the reasons why homosexuality is a treat to humanity? No, because there isn't any.

The human person, made in the image and likeness of God, can hardly be adequately described by a reductionist reference to his or her sexual orientation. Every one living on the face of the earth has personal problems and difficulties, but challenges to growth, strengths, talents and gifts as well. The media really took out of context what the Pope said.  This is what he wrote about the subject over 20 years ago.  His position has not changed...nor should it.

I was catholic. But as long as this man stays as the "leader" of catholic church I shall not step in a single catholic church!!!!

Wow, how cool for Xmas - peace on earth and hatred to all gays?

Christians around the world believe that Christmas is the season of peace, hope, and joy, because of the birth of Jesus.  They believe this because of what they know and have experienced through the divine grace of the living God.

One says that another hates but does not recognize the nature of their own convictions.

Maybe we could include the Pope's name on the BNP mailing list - there were a few "men of the cloth" already on there!  Love thy neighbour!!!! Not very Christian - people who hide behind scripture and judge and condem others rile me - what about being judged on how we treat others... I am a gay woman who lives an ethical life and will go above and beyond for others in need.  The discrimination I have encountered over the years has made me a better and more understanding person.. however, having to listen to tripe and hypocracy is never very nice.

I am however glad that a the American Catholic Church has apologised to the 1000's of children who were abused by the Catholic priests over the years!! But I suppose we shouldn't speak about that sgould we????
