Pope urges religious reconciliation
The religious issues need to
be separated from the political
issues in the Middle East. Land and
political disputes do not need to be
cast as a battle between religions.
Pope Benedict XVI has called on followers of the three major monotheistic religions to put their differences behind them and work towards reconciliation.
The pope made the comments as he celebrated an outdoor mass on Tuesday in front of thousands of people in Jerusalem's Kindron Valley, where Jesus and his disciples are believed to have had the Last Supper
All three religions have
roots in Jerusalem and all
should work together to live in
peace with each other.

I don't know that reconciliation is really possible. The underlying assumption is that essentially all religions are the same and that they are all more or less equally irrational and equally able to promote the spirit of brotherhood.
Not sure that that is the case.

Not all religions are equal. Some are more accurate than others.
Religion can inspire deep love or deep hate.
But people of different faiths can learn to livein peace while disagreeing.
