A possible way to stop corruption – Governments - Babel Fish declares war on Corruption - Opinion
I tend to think that my Filipino partner is not interested in politics that’s not a point to the fact that’s she is a woman or that her education being Filipino related has any lacking, but because she never normally talks a lot about politics. But yesterday after lunch, a few minutes after seeing a Filipino news item concerning corruption, she suddenly blurted out; “Why don’t they control all government payments from one main bank account and not pay pork barrels etc directly to government representatives?” Then ‘because the normal method of issuing checks( cheques) that can be placed into a separate bank account and allows shady accounting”.
Well after a few hours chewing on her question and solution, I suddenly formulated a possible solution to help stop corruption.
It would seem that most governments are trying to create laws to have access to all citizens’ personal information; the latest ploy is to use the threat of terrorism as an excuse to make such laws. Okay why can’t we the citizens have access to the bank transactions of government funds and department funds, plus instant access to our government representatives transaction in there many personal and business bank accounts. We don’t want the bank account numbers or personal information only the transactions.
That a law states that each bank have to put this government and elected officials information on the internet to be easily accessed by the public, but secured against fraud. (It’s only readouts anyway). These Bank websites being linked to the government’s official website, so it’s then easy to scrutiny any official or government account.
Yes its time these politicians and government departments allow the citizens to keep corruption in check.
The Babel Fish declares a war on Corruption. But of course in reality this war will never be won.
