NAACP Washington HQ Receives Envelope With Powdery Substance - Turns Out To Be Tea
The main Washington headquarters of the NAACP was evacuated after a mysterious envelope containing a powdery substance was received at the office of the civil rights organization - a powder that turnout to be tea.

NAACP Washington Bureau Director Hilary Shelton said Monday the envelope contained a smaller envelope with powdery material inside. The business-sized envelope had no return address and was simply addressed to the civil rights organization's office in downtown Washington.

The President of the NAACP is Ben Jealous. Hey says the number of threats targeting the NAACP have increased since the organization accused the Tea Party movement of harboring racists

We have received dozens of death threats, more than 100, since we called for the Tea Party to expel racists from its ranks,” Jealous told Blackenterprise.com today. The 37-year-old says the NAACP along with a number of black congressmen and women, have been at the end of racially motivated intimidation over the past few weeks. He says the harassment stems from their protest against racism within the Tea Party.

The NAACP is due to release a report on Wednesday connecting racist groups with existing Tea Party members. That report was compiled by the IREHR (Institute for Research and Education On Human Rights).

Though no one is specifically making any connection between this package of Tea and the Tea Party - the symbolism is obvious.

They probably tried to smoke it. It only became mysterious afterward. :-)
