I took this photo on the roof of the new Marina Barrage in Singapore. These solar panels power the whole complex which not only controls the barrage but also produces bottled water for the city of Singapore.
What I can see is a 20 - 40 kw Solar PV installation, your comment ...hm, V8 gas, gas turbines for local CHP (combined heat and power) are a hybrid additive but not clean energy like PV. In Europe Electricity provider have to come up with 20% clean energy for 2020, Germany is leader with now 15% Renawables from Wind and Huge solar PV, that's the future man. Thanks for get discussion running
The saddest thing about the way I write is that my intense sense of sarcasm fails to translate into it. Frankly, I a proud of Singapore for seeing ahead and doing what we in the USA say is untenable.
Frankly, I have been thinking about trying to build a microhouse in my back yard and slapping solar panels all over the roof and putting in a small woodstove just to see if I could live that way.
