TIRUNELVELI/CHENNAI:
MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Wednesday said India had made a mistake by voting in support of Sri Lanka in the resolution passed at the UN Human Rights Council.Speaking at a marriage function at the MDMK legal wing secretary Subburathnam’s family in Tirunelveli, Vaiko asserted that LTTE chief Prabhakaran was still alive. For the last five months, 1,45,000 Tamils had been killed in Sri Lanka and 3,50,000 people were living in unsafe conditions. The betrayal by the Indian government had caused immense grief to them, he said.
It seems that Vaiko is just coming out of deep slumber. After being routed at the recently concludud Indian Elections, it seems that Vaiko will hang on to any story that will carry.
It also seems that Vaiko gets audiences only at wedding receptions. What a wonderful occasion to talk about a dead terrorist? I am sure the new couple would have been overjoyed listening to their hero.
I suppose, for Vaiko, any audience is good enough for him to try to collect a few votes for the next elections.
The number of dead Tamils in Sri Lanka increase day by day, depending on the author. But Vaiko takes the cake. One can be sure that the figure of 145,000 dead Tamils is something thought up by him. This may well be the number of votes he would be expecting at the next elections, over and above what he got this time.
Obviously, the LTTE spokesman Pathmanathan confirmed Prabhakaran's death, and Vaiko was too deep in the barrel to be informed.
Was any good Indian Rum served at the wedding?

The latest is that Vaiko was not down for a speech at the wedding.
He has begged for one.
