Barack Obama - This Was The Moment
Focus on the Family, which has been identified as a collection of evangelical organizations, becoming highly visible in the 1980s and working to promote socially conservative policies, is being reported, as a joke, to be asking people to pray for rain on the evening Senator Barack Obama and the anticipated 75,000 convention goers will be gathered to hear his acceptance speech as the Democratic Party's nominee for President of the United States of America, at the Democratic National Convention.

The event is being hosted in a domeless stadium.

The organization has since removed the video from its web site.

We are a society with freedom of religion and free speech.  Is there an hidden motive to this message?

Intense daily thunderstorms common in Colorado at this time of year, with lots of lightning, especially in the afternoons and evenings.

Karen Hatter, I like this story. It's good stuff... and now I have Tom Waits' "Make It Rain" stuck in my head.

Being the Old Head that I am, the Temptations', (Oh, How) I Wish That It Would Rain, popped into mine!

Is Billy Joel singing?

I have not read that but, Denver.org is providing information on logistical facts that may concern its residents.

There is a Rock The Vote Ballot Bash planned and a listing of events open to the public. At present, Wyclef Jean is the only confirmed performer listed to appear. Others are expected.

You missed my joke Karen. Billy Joel is known for the pop hit "Raindrops keep falling on my head"  ha ha ha

There will be a 'Gays for the Big O' celebration after the Hillary speech on Colfax by the government center.

GOP- Say hi to Gustav.

Well, one more indication that prayer is useless...unless god just got it wrong that is...looks like a little rain heading for Louisiana in time for the Repub convention.  Whoops.

All I have to say is...

BAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Looks like we now know who God REALLY wanted to rain out.

Obama '08

here's the very definition of poetic justice:  the Dems enjoyed beautiful weather for the convention, and the Reps announced they'll cut their convention short if Gustav becomes the threat it's lining up to be.

so, to all the evangelicals out there who pray for signs and believe that the Dem.s are evil and to Focus on the Family who believes God is on the side of the Rep.s : honey, if i were you, i think i would be re-evaluating which side i'm on.  you wanted a sign??  well, there you go.

don't believe in God or signs?  fine.  believe in karma.  mccain doesn't think it would be prudent to party if NOLa is threatened or endangered by Gustav.  so, three years ago the republicans screwed NOLa, now NOLa is screwing them.
