A pregnant woman in Southern China who was just a month away from her due date, was dragged screaming from her home, beaten and then forced to have an abortion.

China has a population overcrowding problem with over 1.3 billion people. As a result there is a one child per family law which is strictly enforced.

Though such practices are clearly illegal, the police and judicial powers-that-be ignore the situation of forced abortion cases, and the media heavily censors stories of this nature.

By 2043 China's population is expected to reach 1.557 billion, after that the country will approach a zero population growth rate, and the problems of newborn sex disproportion and population aging should be handled seriously, officials and experts have said.

China's increasingly swelling population will produce profound pressure and influence on the country's resources and environment in coming decades

While enforcement may seem inhumane, so it is inhumane to allow a population to grow beyond the Earth's sustainable limits.

I understand that Jim, but to do this one month before she gave birth?. I would think it far more humane to say enforce contraception once they have one child. To force an abortion one month from her due date just does not sit well with me. Just my opinion.
