Former President Bill Clinton has been hospitalized in the Columbian Presbytarian Hospital in New York City.

President Clinton experienced chest pains and after visiting his cardiologist underwent  a procedure, which placed two stents into his chest.  He is said to be in good spirits.

Apparently Clinton had also been suffering from a cold.  He has worked extremely hard lately visiting Haiti and working hand in hand with President GW Bush to promote donations for Haiti.

President Clinton received Heart By-pass surgery in 2004.

Bush 41 has been in touch with Bill Clinton and both he and Barbara wish Bill Clinton well.

President Obama talked to Bill Clinton earlier and told him to get back to work soon as Haiti needs him.  Bill Clinton told President Obama that he felt well.

Hillary Clinton is now at Bill Clinton's bedside along with their daughter Chelsea.

"Today President Bill Clinton was admitted to the Columbia Campus of New York Presbyterian Hospital after feeling discomfort in his chest," spokesman Doug Band said in a statement. "Following a visit to his cardiologist, he underwent a procedure to place two stents in one of his coronary arteries."

"President Clinton is in good spirits, and will continue to focus on the work of his Foundation and Haiti's relief and long-term recovery efforts," said the spokesman.

The 63-year-old had quadruple-bypass surgery in New York in September 2004 after experiencing prolonged chest pains and shortness of breath.

His wife, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was seen leaving the White House, but did not appear in distress.

Thanks for this Ricky, FOX also reports that Hillary was leaving the White House, but there hasn.t been word of her having left for NYC.

I came on to post this story and Karl had it up first as I checked and this was the only version.

This story was giving a 4 hour breaking news flag then a short time later within 30 mins this story lost the flag then a new one was put up by Sudha Krishna with the flag (he flagged his own story.

In a nutshell Admin used their power to remove a story from the front page and now it's buried down the listings.

This story has six recommendations and Sudha Krishna version has none when I wrote this had none.

In fairness to Amy, she may have been working on her version when ACP put his up, it wouldn't have shown up when she started it - i have done the same.

Yes sorry, I was writing when this version was posted - I took my version off the front page when it published and I realized what happened.

I can't speak to the rest but Sudha did not see the other two when he posted his either - we're so sorry about the mix-up!

CNN's reporting that his daughter is with him now & he's going to be fine.

A source close to former President Clinton says "he's fine." will recover. http://on.cnn.com/dxmnlv

Thanks for this Blue Crush.  Apparently President Obama talked to him and told him to get back to work soon since Haiti needs him.  Bill Clinton was quoted as saying that he felt good and that the was cheerful.  Secretary of State Clinton and Chelsey are by his side now.  Hillary is suspending her trip to Quatar and Saudi Arabia.
