Racism is "People with racist beliefs exhibit stereotype-based prejudices towards individuals and groups of people according to their race. According to the United Nations conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnic discrimination. Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person's social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics."
Racism constitutes for most of the war, conflicts and genocides around the world.
I think it is important for the US to take center stage in such an important conference than letting countries like Iran and others hijack the conference.
For better or worse, many people outside of US expect Obama to provide leadership.

I was intially of the mindset that Obama should attend until I heard that the conference is about to become a Israel bashing event. Most western European nations will not attend.

does anyone do any research and know what this is really about?
the muslim nations have introduced this "racism" issue so that islam cannot ever be criticized or questioned. this is because they know that, if one were to read the koran and quote it, the truth of the religion would soon be exposed, that it is a racist and violent religion in itself. has anyone ever heard of Geert Wilders? he made a short film quoting the koran and showing muslims act out the crimes that their religion told them to do. he was deported from Britain. it's a long story, but since he's been getting so much publicity, the muslim UN-member states decided to make it an international crime to "insult" islam, so that such quotes from the koran cannot be criticized.
all the while, iran and many muslim-majority countries have official laws punishing apostasy with the death penalty, along with many other violations of human rights.
in other words, muslims are trying to take over the world, and part of it is taking over the UN.

This article makes me glad - I did not know that free speech was so highly valued around here. Imagine that!

I find it particularly aggravating when people speak of the "Black community" as if there is monolithic group of people of African descent gathering and discussing Obama's every move. That group doesn't exist and as an African American, I wish and challenge you to see the diversity within the so-called "Black" experience in the US and stop referring to us as the "Black community"
