President Obama Signed Emergency Powers Executive Order

December 2011 through March of 2012 were very pivotal months in the history of the United States. Many issues and even the untimely death of a well known conservative journalist marked these turbulent weeks at the end the year of 2011 and the coming of a new year.

However, the new year has not looked so good thanks to the implementation of new legislation that ominously grants greater powers than ever to the President of the United States of America.

The Stepping Stones of a Dictator

When questioned by one member of the press about the infamous National Defense Resource Preparedness Act, White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney, along with other reporters scoffed at the question of whether the US was preparing for a war with Iran. Not only the left has questioned this controversial bill. Conservative bloggers and others who suspect dishonesty on the part of the White House have questioned whether or not this is a prelude to Martial Law.

ACLJ media journalist, Jay Sekulow and Sean Hannity pointed out that on March 19th  section 801(j) within the Emergency Powers Executive Order gives the president broader powers than ever before. The powers enumerated in section 801(j) exceed those signed by any previous American president including Bill Clinton.

Using Calamity To Install Fascism

According to scholars since March 9, 1933 the United States has been in a declared state of emergency that would justify this enactment of alarming legislation. The Great Depression supposedly precipitated the declaration of emergency by President Roosevelt while the Korean War out break in 1950 necessitated the a national emergency under President Harry S. Truman. Previous national emergencies were also declared under President Nixon on March 23, 1970 and August 15, 1971. Although these steps in history point to a possible abuse of executive power by putting the ultimate control of all US resources, industry, food, travel, and military services under the President of the US, the recent move by the federal government to consolidate even wider powers unto the off of the presidency is highly suspect.

When A President Can Now Become Dictator

On late Friday afternoon March 16, 2012 at a time when everyone was leaving for the weekend and the least possible attention could be drawn to such a ratification, the National Defense Resource Preparedness Act was quietly introduced. If we look back in history we can see that some of the most controversial and draconian enactments have been passed during holidays when the bulk of the Senate and Congress would be adjourned or late Friday afternoon as everyone left for the weekend. The Revenue Act of 1913 was illegally ratified during Christmas holiday while most legislators were on vacation.

First Comes Law That Paves The Road of No Return

Some argue now with the passage of the National Defense Resource Preparedness Act that President Obama can declare war at will and also put a stop to the Presidential elections of 2012, indefinitely delaying a race that he will likely lose in view of his inept handling of the nation over the last 4 years. Other measures that were passed that are equally distressing and have the capacity for grave misuse are H.R. 347 and NDAA S.1867. These two bills were passed in the crucial months between December and March as well. There is a very disconcerting trend that is clearly evident here as this type of draconian law passage solidifies the police state that now virtually embraces the United States.

Another example of the President taking advantage of Congressional break was the recess appointment of Richard Corday to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. This indiscretion occurred conspicuously during Congressional downtime and has been argued as being a direct assault on federal government tradition. Impeachment was threatened as a result of this arrogant move by President Obama.

Now if we in addition to all these perceived infractions committed by the heavy handed enactment of bills that convey incredible power to the President, and his much contested recess appointment, add the suspicious death of Andrew Breitbart, we have a sinister pattern of bold, iron fisted, action by the central government. With section 801(j) added to the Emergency Powers Executive Order we can only be reminded by such parallels in history. Tyranny legitimizes itself with legality first in a government before ringing the final bell of takeover.

Historic Precedents That Mirror Today

In Germany prior to World War II, Hitler’s Nazi party first legitimized its brutal powers and justification for genocide with the enactment of legislation. First, Joseph Goebbels made shrewd use of the media through his propaganda that shouted down the voices of reason, and wise citizens such as Sigmund Freud assumed a mad man like Hitler could never rise to power. Hitler used Heinrich Himmler to force the armed services loyal to the people and the original government to surrender to the new Nazi party. Himmler then created a civilian peace keeping force that would rival the standing tactical armies. This citizen armed force, one that has also been advocated by President Obama, was known in World War II Germany as the SS. Feared by all, this monstrosity of a police force was in actuality was a political terrorism branch of the Nazis. It’s emergence is a very similar model to what President Obama has stressed a need for here in modern day America.

Take a very close look at what is happening here in the United States. If you are from another nation I invite you to watch carefully as the torch of freedom is gradually and methodically snuffed out. If you are an American, I caution you to look about very warily as the tides are turning across our land. Some of us are waking up while too many of us insist upon living in denial like sleeping sheep. A great nation that once stood for freedom now only morphs into a perverse parody of its once former self, and becomes just another malignancy against human rights in the world.
