It's time for Indonesia and Timor leste co-operated for the future...
"We would like to express our sympathy over the past violence that have claimed lives and material losses," President Yudhoyono said after officially receiving the final report from the Commission for Truth and Friendship (CTF) at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Tuesday.
The final report was submitted by CTF chairman from Indonesia, Benyamin Mangkoedilaga, to President Yudhoyono, Timor Leste President Ramos Horta, and Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao.
On the occasion, President Yudhoyono the Indonesian government would study and follow up on the CTF`s recommendation as soon as possible and then take a necessary initiative to improve the friendship among the people of Indonesia and Timor Leste.
Yudhoyono said CTF was responsible not only to run the mandate of the two countries but also to maintain and strengthen their relations.
"I believe that from this report the relations between the two countries will remain strong," Yudhoyono said, adding that the recommendation from the CTF was expected to rehabilitate the human rights victims collectively.
Meanwhile, Yudhoyono`s Timor Leste counterpart Ramos Horta said the government of his country would soon analyze, discuss, and apply the CTF recommendation.
