Very diplomatic and shallow, no sign of courage nor real progress on any thing here.
It is all okay and that is just it. Okay, no vision, no Bismarck, JFK, MLK or Brandt like Speeches and vision for the World. No determination nor any will to make a real difference, Shallow and empty political talk.
Sad. Those two should have been accountants and not Politicians.

Merkel is really at odds with Obama's policies. She was being tactful today. The statement made by Obama about a vigorous discussion really translates that they didn.t agree on a lot of issues. Merkel is also playing to hear electorate for the upcoming election. They bail outs didn't sit well in Europe as you know.

I am aware of that and I be at odds with him as well, all the more reason for her to move the masses and make a heated speech with a plan and vision and see if the World will follow at least in part.
This is pathetic at best. I wish Brandt or Schmidt where up there. At least they had guts and vision.

Unfortunately Schmidt and Brandt are from a different era. All politicians are alike they look to the next election and not 10 or even 20 years ahead. You may have noted the divide going on in Congress with some Democrats since they know they have to face their electorate in 2012. So those are only looking two years down the road:).
