While much breath has been wasted by the Tea Party on making ridiculous claims of Obama administration being Communist, or totalitarian, or even Nazi, the fact is that the Tea Party constitutes the true totalitarian threat to America today. The most obvious response to their claims is that a Communist, totalitarian or Nazi administration would have had them dead or in labor camps, and that they are free instead to spread their propaganda, using government-built Internet of all media, shows how far from Communism or totalitarianism the Obama administration actually is. But the Tea Party people very much do intend real totalitarianism. And their actions as well as their rhetoric proves just how much.

Their claim that they are America, and that the rest of America is not America, shows what they are intending. Their goal is to force themselves upon the whole of America and make all of America subservient to them. It's not enough for them to claim that they're Texas, or Oklahoma, or Alabama, and that you are not. No. They want to claim credit for the whole country and make the whole country subservient unto themselves.

Never mind that America's greatest military victories were done by Democratic presidents - Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt - and its military might was achieved under Democrats Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman. Never mind that America's business and its economic prosperity owes everything to science - a government-funded, vastly Democratic endeavor - without which business would have none of what it sells. Never mind that the government Interstate system, government Internet and government schools have a vast role in American prosperity. Never mind that the true engine of 1980s and 1990s prosperity was the vastly Democratic computer industry. Never mind that the bulk of Republican economic entities - government-subsidized oil, government-subsidized beef, the military that is a part of the government, and the trucking industry that uses government Interstate in its work - are either government or owe vastly to the government. Nevermind that America became the greatest country in the world during Progressive Era and mostly as a result of the Progressive Era reforms, whereas England was the most greatest power of the 19th century to which the Tea Party wants to return. No. They want to claim that government and the Democrats are parasitical on America, when it is in fact these Republican entities - along with the industry of conmanship that is the Christian Right - that are in fact parasitical on America, and most of America's greatness is owed to Democrats.

It's not enough for these thugs to stomp on the heads of activists or threaten to kill and imprison people who aren't  Tea Party. It's not enough for them demand that Obama supporters be jailed, nevermind that President Obama was legitimately elected while his Repubican predecessor George Bush was put into place through corruption and fraud. It's not enough for them to blame "liberals" for the economic collapse that the Bush administration, with Republican Congress, caused, and that would have become far worse had Obama not made difficult choices necessary to contain what by itself would have been a vastly worse crisis than we have seen. No, they have to claim that the whole world is run by a Satanic New World Order conspiracy that includes everybody except themselves. They have to go around with signs portraying President Obama with a Hitler moustache, which they conveniently have failed to place on the portraits of Glenn Beck, Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh. And now they have got a new trick up their sleeves: Voter intimidation. They are planning to show up at the polls and intimidate voters who are likely to vote Democratic.

The Tea Party, in their character, in their message, and in their conduct, are carbon copy of Nazis. They too railed against liberals and feminists and unions and "socialists." They too wanted a return to 19th century ways. They too claimed that there was a vast international conspiracy against their country consisting of Jews, socialists, feminists, unions, and social democrats. They too were brutes, liars and totalitarians; and it is from the Tea Party that America and the rest of the world requires being saved at this time.

There are many people who are disillusioned with the Democrats; but the crisis into which the Bush people placed America was so deep and so vast that the legislature that has been passed and the decisions that have been made should be credited with averting a much bigger calamity. In 1982, when Reagan policies were producing temporary recession, Reagan appealed to people to "stay the course." This is the correct course of conduct now. Stay the course. Let Obama's policies work. And then maybe by 2012 America would be roaring again as it did in 1984.

But more importantly even than that, keep out the fascists. Go to the polls. Vote. Make it known not only to the Tea Party but to the rest of the country and to the rest of the world that the Tea Party have no right to claim that they are America and that you are not. If the Tea Party people assault you, call the police and have them arrested. They started it with the violence; they want to batter you or imprison you or even kill you; have them reap what they sow.

This nation is too great to allow groups such as the Tea Party to claim credit for it or to attempt taking it over. And the greatest act of American patriotism at this time is standing up to these scoundrels and making it known to everyone that they have no right to claim credit for this country, when the bulk of America's real accomplishments come from the people they'd rather stomp on, imprison or kill. Protect American democracy; protect American future. Keep out the fascists and let America convalesce from this crisis without going into a far worse darkness into which the Tea Party would cast America and the rest of the world.
