I'm a HUGE fan of CNN. I don't fancy sitting around watching it on TV though, I prefer the headlines and the videos via their website. I think one day I was perusing the site in March 2009 when I saw the Michael Jackson's clip of him announcing his upcoming tour. I remember watching and hearing him say something about it being the final curtain call and ended by saying, "This is it." Sure Michael, this is it. Like who would believe that's all we will be getting from the King of Pop.

Okay, so a few months passed and his prophecy became true (perhaps not true in his sense of the meaning but true nonetheless). So we all got to reminisce by seeing the old videos, hearing the songs we loved so, and we shared our personal stories to help us with our individual grief. Lo and behold here comes CNN again with a video of Michael's rehearsal the night before he died. I found it on YouTube and watched it until it bored me. Sigh.

I thought THAT was it. No! There was more of the THIS coming. So like a good little fan, I ordered my movie ticket the day they were released for sale. Then I only had to wait about 30 more days for the THIS Michael may have been alluding to. It doesn't matter, I was so game for it!

As I sat in the theater waiting for the movie to begin, I was amused at my excitement....because I know if he was still here performing....the last thing on my mind would be to go see MJ's This Is It. I sat there with about 50 other people and once it began, I had to sit up and forward (literally on the edge of my seat). In awe, I was in awe of this man. I kept saying to myself....NO WAY. No way this man was still doing his THIS that well! lol I get winded just going down on the elevator to get food and then back up on the escalator to sit at my desk to eat and he's dancing and singing like I remember him from about .... hmmm....20-30 years ago! (Oh, I'm a few years younger.)

I don't know which THIS Michael was referring to but after watching his rehearsal performances, I know I want MY this to be more than the average. I walked away from that theater with a message, his THIS was clearly stated and genuinely received.

I want you to hear what Michael has to say to you for you. For his this and my this may not be your this .... I suggest you find it and make it your message and when we leave here, others will have opportunities to cultivate their this because of the lives we lived so well. We all perform, your dance and your song could be in the way you treat your neighbors. Now I have to go to sleep so I can get up in a few hours to go BACK to the theater for another dose. This is it.
