Prime suspect held in paradise
Clarence James, known as 'Cloud' is being questioned by police over the murder of newlyweds Ben and Catherine Mullany. He was seized at his home a mile from the Cocos Hotel, where the couple were shot.
Locals said he was a “crafty and cocky wideboy” who befriended foreigners. He was arrested last week over the shooting, but released after 48 hours. Police said they had found cannabis plants at his house, but no gun. He has a previous conviction for possessing an illegal firearm
The only person in custody for the brutal murder of honeymooners Ben and Catherine Mullany boasted of owning two guns.
Cocaine and cannabis dealer Clarence James - nicknamed 'Cloud' - told another young British couple he kept the weapons 'for business protection'.
The couple - who arrived in Antigua a week before the Mullanys - claimed James made the terrifying boast after he earned their trust, then stole money from them.
Their story emerged as Ben and Catherine's families last night spoke of their devastation.
In a statement, they said: 'We are absolutely devastated by the events of the past week and the loss of Ben and Catherine.
