Prince William and Kate Middleton Say "I Do" at Westminster Abbey
With everything going as beautifully as could be hoped, Prince William exchanged vows with his lovely bride Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London on Friday (April 29).
The couple's nuptials immediately changed their titles, with William now dubbed the Duke of Cambridge while Miss Middleton is now referred to as Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge.
As for the vows, William proudly proclaimed, "I, William Arthur Philip Louis, take thee, Catherine Elizabeth, to my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse. For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, till death us do part."
The couple's marriage was doted with music performed by the London Chamber Orchestra while Kate wore a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress - with the designer being a known favorite of the late Princess Diana.
Quite the well-attended affair, royalty and celebrities including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla, the Middleton family, Prince Harry, Chelsy Davy, David and Victoria Beckham, Elton John and Guy Ritchie all watched on as their loved ones became husband and wife.
Following their wedding ceremony, the newly ennobled Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at 1:25pm to share their first kiss as a married couple as millions looked on, either in person or via the internet/television.
In honor of the Royal Wedding, Queen Elizabeth hosted a post-wedding breakfast of champagne and canapés at Buckingham Palace for 600 guests.
And tonight at 7pm, Prince Charles will throw a dinner dance for around 300 guests at one of the Palace's elegant state rooms.
After all the anticipation surrounding Kate's hair style on her big day, it was revealed that she chose to stick with her longtime stylist James Pryce of the Richard Ward Salon.
An insider told press, "Kate wanted to look like herself on her wedding day. She told salon owner Richard Ward, 'William must recognize me by the time I get to the altar.'"
In the weeks leading up to the wedding, "Kate had around four or five tryouts. She brought along photos of the styles she liked and showed them to James. Hairstyle tests were then done in a top-secret location. Kate was very pleased with the result."
Regarding her makeup, it is rumored that Kate did it herself using Bobbi Brown products. Beauty specialist Sarah Chapman explained, "Her complexion was perfect and her makeup completed the fluidly femininity of her soft look. She carried off the English rose look well with fresh rosy cheeks and nude lips that were balanced by her strong eyes and glossy dark hair. You can tell she looks after her skin very well, which allows her to pull off a natural look."
