I am bemused by the sudden hero worshiping since the former President Cory Aquino died.  It would seem the political Aquino clan have became the hero’s of a country freed from Marcos dictatorship.

Marco’s downfall happened after Cory’s husband was murdered on his home coming from exile in the USA.  He was the main opponent of Marco’s and was made a martyr and a Filipino hero.

Cory was placed into power as the president of the Philippines; she had no idea about politics. She was just a figure head of what was seen as a democratically free Philippines on the power of martyrdom of her deceased husband.  She really had no power that was in the hands of the political elitist clans some of whom had prospered under the dictatorship of Marco’s.

It would now seem that since her death she her self has become a hero and because there is an upcoming election next year 2010.  Her son of whom is not an outstanding politician is being promoted as being the best bet for taking over the presidential seat.

The out going president GMA has been promoting a change in the governance system from a senate based political clan establishment to a peoples parliamentary one. This would mean a pretty face, a good film career or fame and plenty of money, would not be the successful key to gain leadership roll in the Philippines.

But the corrupt elitist do not want any change that benefits the Filipino people, they prefer this stupid system that allows crooks, corrupt and fake hero’s to lead a nation that really needs these elitists banned and decent educated people to rid the crime from politics and give the citizens a government that really cares about the poor and the real wellbeing of the Philippine nation. If the status quo does not change and these corrupt elitist political clans are allowed to keep their status quo, poverty will get worst and the Philippines will still remain 100 years behind their nearest successful neighbors.

The Perl of the orient will be just a empty oyster shell.  It makes me laugh to see the pictures of the worst enemies of the Philippines printed on their currency notes. The political clans have robbed the people blind then they love to make themselves look like Hero’s

GMA will be stepping down, she does not want to be prime minister, she has put forward a plan that will also take the lock off her own political clan’s hold on power in the Philippines. She has been a hand’s on president through out her watch, she I am sure is not completely un-corrupt and very guilty of infringing the voting laws as with most other politicians in the Philippines are.  She is however I believe the first patriotic leader the Philippines has ever had and really wants politics in the Philippines to favor the people and not the elite.
