Lords Stadium, London (21st June 2009)

Around 200 Tamils diaspora in London gathered in front of Lords Stadium to protest against the Sri Lankan cricket team which played and lost against Pakistan in the Twenty20 finals. Tamils were requesting the ICC and the British Government to ban the Sri Lankan cricket team from playing international matches similar to the ban of South African cricket team during the period of apartheid. Sri Lankan government has put around 300,000  Tamils (Internally Displaced People)  in camps without any freedom of expression. No International NGOs or media are allowed to freely talk to the IDPs.

Al Jazeera has conducted its own investigation into the conflict and spoken to Tamils who have suffered and aid workers who have remained silent until now, revealing testimonies that call into question the version of events Sri Lanka's government wants the world to believe - http://english.aljazeera.net/news/asia/2009/06/200961962329963252.html
