The Government is currently considering an application from energy company E.On to build a new coal-fired power station at Kingsnorth.

Hundreds of protestors have gathered in a field near to the site of the proposed power station and will run workshops and deliver speeches on climate change.

And at around 2pm today the five - who were part of a 20-strong gathering arrested in June when they stopped a coal train on the way to Britain's biggest power station, Drax - will come onto the site, thereby breaching their bail conditions.

The three men and two women - Ellen Potts, Oli Rodker, Johnathan Stevenson, Paul Morozzo and Mel Evans - say they feel it is their duty to risk jail with the protest.
