Protesters March On CANSEC 08 In Ottawa

Thursday, April 10 was the last day of proceedings at CANSEC 08, a trade show highlighting military and security technologies held at Ottawa's Congress Centre. 30-35 protestors, some wearing masks, participated. A snake march wound through some of Ottawa's busiest streets keeping Ottawa Police on the move. Apparently no route plan had been given to the Police. I saw high numbers of Police, equal in strength to the protesters but no tear gas or pepper spray was utilized. Riot trucks and equipment were standing by but events remained peaceful. One arrest was made.

This story is incorrect. "no tear gas or pepper spray was utilized" is a lie! Get the facts straight!

its 2008 Cansec he is talking about you moron...when your done playing "crybaby" wipe your tears and continue to let people walk all over you .... a peaceful protest doesnt include vandalism and chaos.... you people are stupid. Good for the Police ...about time they put there foot down
