Samajwadi Party's newly elected MLAs was today postponed amid demand from different corners of the Party to make Akhilesh Yadav as the next Chief Minister. Party sources said the meeting is likely to be held after Holi festival.
Earlier today, a meeting of Party’s parliamentry board was held. After the meeting, State Unit President of the Party ,Akhilesh Yadav ,said that Mulyam Singh Yadav will be the next Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, out going Chief Minister Mayawati has blamed both the BJP and Congress for revival of Samajwadi Party in the state. After submitting her resignation to the governor she said that developmental activities will be badly affected in next Samajwadi Party's regime.

In Uttarakhand, Chief Minister B C Khanduri today tendered his resignation to Governor Margret Alva. Accepting his resignation Alva asked him to continue as Chief Minister till the new government officially sworn in.
In the meanwhile, BJP legislative party has authorized the high command to elect the leader of legislative party. Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal is convening a meeting of its newly elected Legislatures at Chandigarh tomorrow morning. AIR correspondent reports that President of Shiromani Akali Dal, Sukhbir Singh Badal has convened the meeting to elect the leader of the Legislature Party. A combined meeting of Shiromani Akali Dal and Bhartiya Janata Party legislatures is also scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. After the joint meeting of the alliance, Shiromani Akali Dal will stake its claim to form the government in the state.

After gaining over two-third majority in Manipur Assembly elections, the Congress party high command has sent Luzinho Faleiro and Hemant Biswa Sarma as central observers to decide further course of action.
